39 Degrees and it's a SOUPER day!

After almost two straight weeks of tempuratures in the 70's to the 90's..it's now 39 balmy degrees in upstate New York. I decided that I'd make my last big pot of soup for the season (I try not to make large amounts of soup in the warmer months as no one eats it much)..so heading into the pot today was Turnip greens, spinach, zucchini, yellow squash, onion, cabbage, tomatoes, hot red pepper,a little bit of browned and chopped bacon, and some chicken broth. It's smelling pretty good. Now to round up the kids and their quart jars to send it home with them!

Me too!

Sunday night I made some pea soup. I didn't have a ham bone this time so I got some smoked ham hocks from the butcher. Not a good substitution IMO... did provide flavor but not any usable meat. :/
