Good eats is the only thing saving Food Network from death. It's the only show where food is featured and <gasp> it's intelligent.

Sadly, Food Network thought it could thrive with housemoms who (they thought) wanted to be entertained and not bother with cooking and that's why you have that hack Rachel Ray have like 15 shows including what must be the most IQ dulling moment in tv in that stupid talk show she has.

All of the real food people have migrated to Travel (No Reservations and Bizzare Foods) and Bravo (Top Chef). If food network died today, I would be sad that Alton Brown would be out of a job, but instantly happy to know that he could go anywhere else and do a better job.
