HOT! TigerDirect - Hitachi 400GB 7200 RPM 8MB Buffer SATA-150 OEM Hard Drive for ONLY $64.97!
HOT price for a hard drive this size! You can't even get a 200GB hard drive at this price most of the time. Rebate expires 8/31/06, but the drives will probably run out of stock very soon. Shipping is $6.99 and there's no tax in most states. HITACHI 400GB SATA HARD DRIVE DEAL

Any feedback on Hitachi drives? I've used the regulars; Maxtor, WD, Seagate. Never Hitachi.
Good, bad, indifferent? Thinking about picking one up at this price. Thanks...

I have a Hitachi drive PATA that I have had for probably 18 months or so. No problems so far.

Hitachi (HGST.com) makes good drives - I use them all the time for laptops. They bought the IBM hard drive division (yes, the dreaded Deathstar) and fixed it.
