ok the link works for me again,... however, i was not getting a page not found.

please double check your host file. i didn't find what was wrong because spybot added nearly 2mb of text into my hostfile, so i simply loaded one from before i installed spybot and that did it for me.

OK, If I delete the host file in spybot won't that leave me open?

Wish I new the exact file it was blocking on the redirect!

I always check the Dell deals on your posts and have bought 8 boxes over the years through those links. Got the itch to get another one. LOL

PS. spybot sends bad host file links back to your computer so you should get a not found website msg.

IF it is the host file (like it was for me), i would save your host file as is, create a new host file with nothing in it, and then try clicking on the links to see if it works.

if you've run your adware/spyware programs (and you should run several, not just 1) and everything comes up clean, you should be ok with having a blank hostfile and then testing it.

as for what spybot does, it isn't all that difficult for say, another "site" to report a bad link using our links and then have spybot block those.

worst case scenario, i'll upload the host file that i am using for people to use if they wish.

I just checked and didn't see gotapex.com listed, but have you notice the route this takes before reaching Dell?

Host: www.gotapex.com

Host: www.apmebf.com
Host: www.emjcd.com
Host: lt.dell.com

With three redirects along servers with suspicious names (looks a bit like just random letters, even though they seem to belong to CommissionJunction), I wouldn't really wonder
Spybot reply.

Has anyone tried the Dell Vostro 400 mini deal on the main gotapex page? I went to the link and it shows up as $698, then when I go to customize it and get to the 1GB ram and hit next component I get some Dell page about some code being invalid?

Probably, but since there's a similar deal on the main page and none of these deals seem to have worked right I'm wondering what's up with the main page deal now.
