I really wouldn't want a 15" widescreen on a laptop, especially for surfing. With a couple of toolbars up top, the amount of real estate left to do anything is pitiful.

Good call, Johnny -

That's part of the reason these things are so dang cheap - the resolution is a crapp 1366x768. I have better resolution than that on my 13" laptop screen. For a 15" laptop, you shouldn't settle for less than 1680x1050, unless cost is your ONLY consideration for the machine. Or I guess if all you're going to do is watch movies on it.
