4 of 5 Good product Friday, March 07, 2008 Steve from Madison, WI
Scanner worked exactly as represented. It was an easy and quick way to get a 1000 or so business cards into some way I could organize them. Software took a bit of fiddling and better instructions would be helpful. It did not handle complex business cards or ones with a lot of color, but straightforward business cards were a snap. Photos were scanned easily and quickly with good resolution. Wouldn't use it to archive photos that you already didn't have a digital image, but for quick and dirty, it was good. However, after about 20 or 30 scans I started to notice scan "scratches" along the whole length of the scan. Cleaning the scanner with the provided cleaning card did not help. This was noticeable at high magnification in the blacks mainly, but would prevent this from being an archiving scanner. Overall, it is great for business cards and mediocre for photos. 5 of 5 I really like this little scanner!!! Saturday, February 16, 2008 mygonzo50501 from Iowa
This scanner is so tiny and easy to use, it goes perfectly with my laptop, was unbelivably easy to set up and the quality of the scan is really great! I'm very impressed! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Better than expected Friday, February 15, 2008 Tlukewpb from West Palm Beach, FL
It has taken a little time to get the scanner operational. The problem resulted from the fact that the drivers CD to run the scanner that was included in the package was for Windows XP and below while my OS is Vista. Plustek sent a CD for Vista, I installed the drivers and the scanner is working well. I had been looking for a scanner that I could use to scan a multitude of photos without having to raise and lower a lid each time one was scanned. I was concerned that the resolution would be poor. However, the scanned photos, while probably not equal to a real high end photo scanner, seem to be comparable to those that I have been scanning on a number of all-in-one printer, copier, scanners. 4 of 5 plustec review Saturday, February 09, 2008 A Customer from Greenwich, Ct.
As uusual Buy.com delivered this product in a very timely manner. This was not an item that I needed but the price was so low ($20) after rebate that I decided to try it.So far it is a great product ( few weeks ) for the limited use that I have given it.For starters I have have taken several dozen business cards and have scanned them with no problems. The provided softwear enables you to then organize the data in an Outlook type format and even export this data.It is really a great organizational tool.I now have all of my business cards organized in a very easy electronic address book.I have not really experimented with the photo scanning.I did scan some receipts and believe that this can be a handy way of saving receipts.
My biggest complaint is that the instructions for the softwear operations are not very clear.I am reasonably skilled with most facets of the computer and softwear and found that it took me quite a while to figure out the operation of the softwear programs.A better instruction manual would make this a 5 star product.
If offered at this price again I would buy a several more for family and co-workers. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 affordable and easy to use, Saturday, February 09, 2008 A Customer from Houston
Easy to set up and use. Works well. With its price ($20 after rebate), it is likely the best in this price range. I am very happy with the purchase. Was this review helpful?
