This will only help the movie.
I liked the part about M. Night Shyamalan's new movie. IMO, that guy made one great movie and the rest sucked or were mediocre at best, yet he gets all this good press.

![]() Not a big fan. Yeah, Sixth Sense was good...but Signs and The Village were only average, and Unbreakable was painful (no pun intended). Lady In The Water doesn't look like it will break the trend, either. ![]()

This is hysterical.
This is a radio interview with critic Joel Siegel and Clerks 2 director-writer Kevin Smith on the radio this morning re: walking out of Smith's film ONLY Siegel doesn't realize that he is actually speaking with Kevin Smith. No need to listen to the whole thing but definitely wait for when Joel Siegel finally realizes he is actually speaking with Kevin Smith. http://www.newsaskew.com/misc/joelsiegel07192006.mp3 |

movie reviewer's are like music critics - failed performers.
i dont care if youve been in the business 30 years or 30 minutes, your reviews are just that - REVIEWS. Not Facts. Theyre Opinions. Again, NOT FACTS. so i dont listen to them. i read them to see how wrong they mostly are. Ok, sometimes they do hit the nail on the head, but purty wurds on paper dont equate to mastery of the field. Have any of these critics actually worked SUCCESSFULLY in the business theyre critics in? If they did, they wouldnt be making a living kneeling down in front of dropped pants to praise a movie theyre paid to like. ill go see the movie myself, thank you. if its bad, ill decide for myself, and THEN rip it. but yeah, AFTER i watch the whole movie.

Chasing Amy was such a genius flick. "Excuse me but what's a Nubian?" LOL. I saw Kevin Smith speak at Comic-con last year and he had everyone rolling in the aisles.

i was just about to echo sixpac's sentiments above about Chasing Amy, which i really enjoyed. but i thought the first Clerks was just alright and heavily overrated; Dogma was pretty good the first time i saw it, but when i watched it again i couldn't stand it; i didn't bother to watch Jersey Girl, and don't even get me started on Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back... so, overall, i think kevin smith is highly overrated. i know this is going to make me sound really uppity, but i feel like people who sing his praises and drop his name in movie-related conversations only cling to him in the name of "indie cred," and do so in hopes of either being "in the know" or part of some hip cult following. i'm not necessarily saying kevin smith is a bad writer/director (i don't think he's that good either), just overrated and highly undeserving of the kinds of worship some people i know seem to lavish upon him. having said that, Clerks 2 looks terrible to me. |

It had some very funny momentsSitting in the theater made me think of this thread http://www.gotapex.com/entertainment...-applause.html (Death of Applause?) People clapped when the movie started, ended, and several scenes in between.

I laughed my butt off at Clerks 2 this weekend. So did the rest of the audience.

It wasn't his best work, but it was well done and worth watching.
