Does your wife despise Mythbusters yet...

Loooove Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe? I have spoken to a few male friends re: this topic and there seems to be a general consensus. Is Mike Rowe that darned appealing (ladies?) or is it that mythbusters is just the show you love to hate? And, the reason some guys seem to dig Mythbusters more and more.... http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/my...y/kari_bio.jpg Mods, could ya do me a favor and move this to, oh, say, entertainment? I missed my mark. Thanks.

i enjoy both shows, but if i had to pick one over the other it would be Dirty Jobs. Mike Rowe is funny and boyishly adventurous. he has a certain charm that the guys on Mythbusters do not.
plus, it's really cool seeing those dirty jobs that "somebody's gotta do."

Definitely the myth buster boys aren't charming, but they are geeky and that is aways appreciated!

I think he used to be a navy SEAL, so that might not be a very good idea.

Probably got kicked out after they implemented the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy

Edit:

Hyneman has a degree in Russian language and literature. He has had a variety of careers, including scuba diver, wilderness survival expert, boat captain, linguist, pet shop owner, animal wrangler, machinist, concrete inspector, and chef. It was joked in several episodes that he had spent time in the special forces.

Looks like he wasn't.

I like Mythbusters, But I haven't seen it in a while. Watched a marathon of it when I first started dating my ex. Maybe that's why she is my ex? OH wait.. no.. I broke up with her.

I like watching both...mythbusters a little more than dirty jobs though. But yes...Kari is not too bad looking either.

Oh yeah...and the wife loves mythbusters too.

I stand corrected. I did just discover, however, that Kari appeared in a four-page spread in the June 2006 edition of FHM.

I have yet to find these pictures online, but once I get home it will be first priority.

Though I like both shows... I still give MythBusters the edge in "useful content"... especially when they bust myths that some people SWEAR is true.

On a side note, when there is absolutely nothing to watch on TV, thank god for Discovery/TLC/History channels for giving us SOMETHING to piss away our time on and not be totally bored (of course the internet does a good job of that as well. )

Actually, I kinda enjoy watching "Deadliest Catch"...

Pretty much, most of the world (that I will NEVER see in person) has been brought to me in live living color by the Discovery Channel.

I think that's part of what makes Dirty Jobs interesting, too. It gives you a "behind the scenes" look at workplaces that you would never otherwise see.

And that's the BEAUTY and joy of TV. Living vicariously through others.

I loved the objectives in the British ones. Like when they sank two old Minis and gave the two teams two days to figure out how to build something to raise them to the surface. That stuff was cool, and required imagination, etc.
