BEST burger EVER! The zucchini fries were delicious (crunchy, not greasy). Wasn't crazy about the burger dessert. Tasted kind of stale but the presentation was cute. Highly recommend checking out Burger Bar next time your in Vegas.

Neither my friend, a longtime local, nor myself had any idea that this restaurant existed so I thought it might be a good idea to start a restaurant thread for all of those hidden gems which are so welcomed by the hungry traveler.

While you're in Vegas, check out the mexican restaurant at The Rio. By far, *the* best carnitas plate ever!

Oh my gosh that place was sooo nasty in cali. There was one in pasadena that i went with my family. And one time there were flies on the meat, and we saw some sketchy bugs walking aronud... and not the two legged type. so we made a run for it and a couple months later the whole place was demolished. so yeah.. i dont go to that place no more.

Hmm and in vegas, i like Ah-sin at the paris. It faces the fountain show at the bellagio and has good japanese and sushi.

We have Fuddruckers here in the DC area. Fuddruckers has many things other than burgers.

It wasn't that bad here... plus the fact that your meat came directly from the grill and then you took it to the "topping bar" to complete it.

But I guess one person's experience doesn't always match anothers. Oh well...

They do have good burgers. They are one of the few places that don't use frozen patties. They have a darn good buffalo burger too.

In-N-Out are tiny little burgers. There's more lettuce than meat on those things. And when you get a double or triple they just slap on even more condiments to cover up the burger. Now fuddruckers is nice.

And how the heck is 1/8 lb burger the best burger you have ever had? 8 oz is the smallest a burger should be.

I was just mentioning that they use fresh ground beef (not frozen). As far as fast food burgers go, I would rate them near the top.

Another good hamburger place is Tom's in Lompoc CA. They have 26 different burgers on their menu.

If you want German food in Las Vegas, http://www.usmenuguide.com/cafeheidelberg.html is the best.

i dunno... my dad is a mean cook/griller, and most people we know rave about his burgers, but i still prefer in-n-out. i've had a number of other homemeade burgers of all varieties; i'm not saying they aren't good, just that, for some reason, i really really like in-n-out. and for what it's worth, when i used to go there a lot, i always got a 3x3, if that meets your meat requirement.

anyway, to actually add to the thread:

if any of you are in west LA and hankering for some good japanese food (specifically noodles), try a restaurant on the south side of Pico blvd and just east of Bundy, called Yabu. they make all of their soba and udon noodles by hand, and for me, it's the best soba i've had in LA. might be hard to spot if you're driving by, because it only has a small neon green sign, but it's nice inside and the prices are very reasonable.
