I root for the Hurricanes, but I'm a FAMU Rattler (Divison 1-AA)

We do share the same school colors though (although FAMU had the colors first and UofM adopted them afterwards.)

I honestly don't know if Florida is better than Michigan (I don't think anyone else can honestly say either) but I think this makes sense given that Ohio State already played and beat Michigan and a rematch would not really say much about who is the national champion. I think Michigan should beat USC.

The one argument in Michigan's behalf is that the game was at OSU. A game on a neutral site may prove differently. I think Florida is the deserving team when comparing their schedule with Michigan's. Michigan's one loss may have been to a slightly better team, but Florida's wins were much better IMO.

There are certainly arguments to be made in favor of both teams- they are both very good. I have no problem with the way it was decided. I was surprised that the loss to OSU did not drop Michigan in the polls, even a place or two. Except for a couple of turnovers I think OSU outplayed them. Then there is the arguement that a team that did not win their conference does not deserve to play for the National Championship.

Sorry guys but the gators are probably going to get stomped. SEC ain't what it used to be.

Also whats up with the dual loyalties to different schools in FL? This cat at the gym also roots for all Florida teams, but is a Canes fan. Do you guys have real rivalries between the schools?

The rivalry between UF and FSU goes waaaay back.

I'm partial to the Gators because: 1) my brother and sister both went there, and 2) in high school my band would always march in the Florida homecoming parade and at the "Growl" - they were fun times.

What???? You've never heard of "intra-state" rivalries?

Hell, we have rivalries with cross town high schools here.

I think Showtime was saying that you should pick one school...instead of rooting for more than one from the same state. Other schools would be sworn enemies. Kinda like a SC fan rooting for UCLA, or Longhorn fan rooting for Texas A&M.

I don't care who UVA was playing, I'd never root for them. OK, maybe if they were playing Notre Dame. But that's about it.

yep... i get to go clown some of my southern kin folk at the gym later since i missed them yesterday. one of them went to LSU, but roots everyone outside of LA and now the pac 10. another one played ball at baylor, but is life long miami fan. he was rooting for the noles and gators. they are all getting some tonight. the michigan fan will be the best. he said that they would blow SC out and i was like make sure to be here after the game so that we can settle.
for me, i don't really hate on many team besides maybe notre dame. besides needing help in the standing, i only root for sc.

Honestly the only FL school I can't stand is FSU... so I can root for Florida and Miami. However if it were the Gators vs the Canes, then I'll root for the Canes.

I don't have an allegiance to any of those schools since I didn't attend either of them.

I cant speak for others but I only have one loyalty. As for how the Gators are going to handle OSU, its going to depend on a number of factors. If the Gators play well they may have a chance, but you are right they arent the gators of old.

C'mon dude, I know you were rooting for us a little bit against Notre Dame. I mean your game vs them was probably worse for you than SC vs ucla was to me.

That win saved Dorrel (who I like). But if he doesn't start coaching better, you may be in for years of mediocrity at best.

Trust me....NO I DID NOT! I never have, and I never will!

As for the ND game, yeah it was a tough loss, and I had a great time there at the game. Those fans are definitely classy people. As for Dorrell, I do agree. Guess he knows what its like to be Hackett and the second go around Robinson.

LIAR!

Anyways, ND fans are not all that classy... at least not after the annual beating. They are however, pretty loyal and that makes it more fun for us.

No Liar here!

It becomes a battle at home with my two brothers who graduated from SC. They hate the fact that I never support their school/team.

It's all good though...

No matter what the outcome, I have to give FLA some props for quickly turning things around after that 92 KO return by OSU.

At this point, there is basically a quarter remaining. All I have to hope is that UF keeps control and doesnt make any stupid plays.

Heh...

A Buckeye is a tough nut... but unfortunately, a Gator's jaws exert so much pressure per square inch that it just can't stand up to it.

Yet another victim.... dragged down into the swamp.

Guess the SEC has proven yet again... don't count them out. 2 for 2 in this BCS.
