No question, they're the best team in the league right now. I don't see anyone in the AFC being able to stop them. Maaaaybe Baltimore, but only if SD somehow stumbles.

It was so fantastic being there at the game today. The stadium went freaking crazy when he broke the record. Honestly, nobody in the stadium thought he'd have enough time to score the record breaker. God bless turnovers!

GO CHARGERS

Best Chargers team since the Dan Fouts era. LT is a special player and a special person. The team seems to be firing on all cylinders at the moment. I just hope they stay healthy until the end of the year, and keep believing in themselves as much as their fans do. This has been a great season so far.

Baltimore figured out a way before. The one big question mark is Rivers. He has played very well so far, but he is still in his first year starting. The pressure will be stepped up a few levels come playoff time.

It was great to see LT break the record yesterday. He is a great player and, from what I have seen, an even better person.

Colts gave up something like 360 yards rushing this weekend. Two Ravens were over 100 yards in the first half. LT would have fun against them. Teams have been focusing on LT more and that is why he has not been able to get as many long runs, but that has opened up the passing more. Gates is back in the action again. What we may need to watch out for is Schottenheimer. He has an excellent regular season record, but a dismal playoff record. They do have the potential to win everything if they play like they are capable. Their offensive and defensive lines are amazing and that is critical for success.

SD is rolling. Unfortunately, SD doesn't have the same kind of homefield advantage that some other teams enjoy because the weather is always so nice.

There's a big difference between forcing Indy to go to New England in January and forcing them to go to SD in January.

Add to that the fact that Phillip Rivers has struggled mightily over the past few weeks. If SD makes a run to the Superbowl it will be on the shoulders of LT.

I've changed my mind. Ravens go from the AFC. The difference: McNair vs. Rivers.

I think the only shot the Chargers will have is if they get homefield advantage. Hopefully I come home a happy Chargers fan after tomorrow's game

Well, the nice thing about SD having homefield advantage is: 1) they're undefeated at home this year 2) all the other AFC contenders are flying from the east coast and 3) Our cheerleaders won't be all bundled up due to cold weather

As far as Rivers not looking so great lately, I agree. But you also have to agree that guy is CLUTCH in the 4th quarter. He may not make every completion, but he seems to make the ones that count. And in the end, we get W's.

BZZZZT!!!

I think the biggest advantage to having home field is not that the other teams won't have to play in harsh weather, but that the Chargers won't have to. They showed weakness when playing in the rain against Seattle, and like most warm-weather teams they don't play as well in the snow. They will be on the top of their game when playing in familiar weather, and when they are playing their best, they are very hard to beat.

I think people are throwing Rivers under the bus too soon. He's had a couple of bad weeks, but has proven early in the year that he can play under pressure. He just has to get in his rythym again and he'll do great.

Chargers v. Saints in the Superbowl!

I have been very impressed with Rivers this season. The Chargers and Rivers are starting to get challenged more because teams have had a chance now to see what they are doing and trying to devise a plan to deal with that. Changing coverages and trying to get more pressure on him. But that is also true of the teams the Chargers face so it will all come down to who can execute the best. The Chargers have faced tough games and had to come from behind in the fourth quarter and they have done it which helps them believe that they can do it again. A large part of the game is mental- and the Chargers believe they can win.

To win in January, you have to be able to run the ball and defend the run. Both the Ravens and SD do that very well. Hence the introduction of QB's into the conversation. McNair has been there and done it, Rivers has not.

Playoff football is a much different game than the regular season. Not to say that PR won't come through. Simply saying I'd trust the vet more than the new kid.

Hey Guys and Gals...I do still exist! I'm delighted to see the success this team has had this year. I hope to make it to one or both of the playoff games this year. I read in the UT that if Indy beats KC then we will likely play the NE vs. NYJ winner on Sunday 1/14 and will play the Chiefs on Sat 1/13 if KC wins. I'm hoping for the Sunday game so I can attend... I'm going to a wedding with my girlfriend that Saturday, and I don't think it would be worth it to try and get out of it for a football game :-) Tickets will likely cost me $200 each or so (outside the stadium on gameday, the way I always get tickets), but will be worth it. We had an easy schedule this year and will NOT next year, so this is our shot!

I agree that Rivers is the key here. Hopefully he has worked out the kinks these last 6 weeks and will be healthy and ready for the bigtime come next weekend. One major problem there is he has had a depleted receiver corps for a while. Hopefully Vincent Jackson, Gates, and Parker can continue to step up.

I saw the game but didn't watch anything about what happened afterwards... did the pats. do something to disrespect the chargers after the game? The only thing I saw through the game was that the pats. played hard and won the game... actually, it was more of the chargers losing the game than the pats. winning... so how did the pats disrespect the chargers?
