NFL Playoffs...Let The Real Season Begin

The pretenders have been cast aside, and only contenders remain. Well, there are a few posers in the NFC...but you get my drift.

Who's going to win it all? Let's see your votes. If you want to lay out your rationale as well, feel free.

I'll cast a very unconfident, early vote for Baltimore. I could see arguments for San Diego and/or New Orleans as well.

I say Philly. THey are a team playing really well under Garcia. I would love ot see Garcia win a super bowl.

Dallas will be out next week... they are playing horrid football, curse of TO.

Giants too.

Colts will choke, they always do.

Chargers too.

Jets vs. Eagles in super bowl.

Of course I am biased for the Home Town Team- Chargers. It would be interesting if they got to play New Orleans with so many players on that team with SoCal connections- from Drew Brees and kicker John Carney to Reggie Bush. The Chargers seem to be the most complete team right now, but the Ravens could definately challenge them with their defense. They are pretty hot right now too.

I hope you are right. The Eagles have been playing great lately, especially last Sunday.

Unfortunately, I expect the Bears to fall in their first playoff game.

I think it will be a Chargers vs. Seahawks Superbowl, so we'll just have to see...

Wow, more love for Dallas, Seattle, and Philly than for New Orleans. I guess the Saints still haven't made many believers.

I can honestly say that I have no idea who will be playing in the Superbowl, much less, who will win the superbowl. It seems like every time I think I have a good feel for the NFL this year I am proved wrong the next week. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dallas or New York make a run. If either of these teams get their heads on straight, they have more than enough talent to win games.

I'm also interested to see what KC and NE do. KC went on a tear earlier this season and have a great running game to fall back on. NE can never be counted out with Bellicheck (sp?) and Brady. And the Colts are flying under the radar this year due to their defensive woes so maybe they can make a run without all of the normal pressure on Manning and Dungy.

Should be a very interesting and entertaining next month of NFL football.

I voted for SD. Chicago has a good chance too but they need a real QB.

There are quite a few pretenders still out there - in the NFC. Heck, if the Steelers were in the NFC they would be in the playoffs and they don't deserve to go to the playoffs.

I think you can pretty much count out Dallas (they have dropped too many games at the end of the season plus they have that great team player - TO ) and you can count out the NYG too, although I would like to see them win one for Tiki. (BTW - MikeD - Tiki was at TenPenh the night before the NYG vs Skins' game). Seattle isn't firing on all cylinders. I think either Philly or Chicago will make it to the SB for the NFC but NO has an outside shot.

Although you can never count out the patty cakes - I think they aren't going to make it. I guess they haven't impressed me much with exception of beating Chicago in Chicago. Indy will get beat b/c their defense is horrid. Their DL used to carry their D but this year they don't seem to be doing the job. NYJ aren't going to get past the patty cakes so they are out. And I just hate the Ravens so they are out. Yes, that is a legitimate scientific way to eliminate a team from contention.

Also, I do have tickets for the pro bowl and I cannot wait for that next month.

BTW- who was smoking crack and then voted for Dallas?

SD has a great chance to go all the way this year. The potential road block will be the Ravens though.

Da Bears sure looked like they were going to make it all the way earlier this year, until half of their defense started getting really beat up and Tank Johnson in jail. Then you add in the Rex Grossman non-factor... so I don't see them going very far.

I vote for the Chargers. They look so good all around. That steroids using crazy madman Shawn Merriman roaming on defense + Mr. Incredible LT himself = SuperBowl Champ!

The first hint is the text "Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected." at the top of the poll.

I think SD Chargers are the team to beat. With a healthy Luis Castillo, Parker, and McKardell, teams are going to be in a world of hurt trying to match up with them.

Regardless of who goes to teh superbowl...we all know the real game to watch is the AFC championship game. The NFC teams are all a bunch of pretenders.

The way this season is going, any time a team gets hot, they get a ton of media attention and then completely blow it (see: Bears, Cowboys, Saints). So I'm thinking the Super Bowl winner is going to be someone nobody believes can win it. That means the team would have to be from the NFC, so I'll go with Bears. Though it could be Eagles, using that same formula (but if the Eagles got to the Super Bowl, there would be so many Rocky comparisons that they'd inevitably lose).

If it were a rational, normal season, the Ravens or Chargers probably win it all.

Did I hear right... Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in 11 tries? Guess it is now 12!
