Paris Hilton Faces Jail Time in Sentencing Today

http://www.wsbtv.com/entertainment/1...205042007&ts=H

LOS ANGELES -- Paris Hilton could have a very unglamorous new address if prosecutors today convince a judge to throw her in Los Angeles County jail.

The city attorney's office is recommending that Hilton be jailed for 45 days for violating her probation.

She could get up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Hilton was on probation after pleading no contest in January to an alcohol-related reckless driving charge.

For her sentencing today, prosecutors also recommend Hilton to stay away from alcohol for 90 days and wear a monitoring device that will chart whether she complies.

And they want her license suspended for an additional four months.

City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo said Hilton is being treated the same as anyone else.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood, and was sentenced to 36 months probation and $1,500 in fines.

Hilton has starred in the television reality show "The Simple Life" and in the horror-thriller "House of Wax."

http://fametastic.co.uk/archive/2007...ing-probation/

Paris Hilton has been jailed for 45 days for violating the terms of her probation, following her drink-driving arrest last September.

Paris entered a “no contest” plea for the DUI at a hearing in January and was sentenced to three years probation and fined, in addition to having her driving license temporarily suspended and being ordered into an alcohol education programme. However, she twice caught driving by police in February and March during her license suspension and didn’t attend the education programme within the designated time frame.

She was 18 minutes late arriving at court this afternoon and gave a monotone testimony explaining her actions. Paris blamed her publicist Elliot Mintz, claiming Mintz told her that her driving license was still valid but a member of the Californian Highway Patrol later explained that they had personally told Paris about the suspension.

Her sentence will begin on 5th June at the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF).

Probably because the parents worked for their money. The daughters are indeed another story.

Misunderstanding a judge's order? Nah...I think she was just ignoring it. She was warned about 3 times per media accounts, from different police giving her citations, etc. No license plates, then "woah, your license is suspended!" One cop even found the documentation in her car.

I'm not giving the parents too much cred either. The mother laughed when the DA said that she deserved jail time, etc.

It is telling that she has no real education, despite being richer than the world, has been taped demeaning "those idiot poor public school b#$#$es" or whatever, etc. It's not even earned elitism, whatever that means. Keeps wrecking her Bentleys, etc. In some ways I feel sorry for her. Her parents should have made her get off her arse and do something with her life. Supposedly one of Trump's daughters built her own company (with his help,) but manages it, goes to work 5-7 days/week, etc. Big difference.

She will probably get the Martha Stewart suite. I doubt they will put her in with your basic hardcore prisoners.

I wonder if she'll be able to handle it. Hopefully she'll learn to always use the chauffer from now on.

Joshua Capone is either fifteen, delusional, or trying to get into her pants through the internet.

Probably all of the above.

Paris Hilton is the perfect example of what Warren Buffet is referring to (from an article in Money ):

Quote:
Buffett is not cutting his children out of his fortune because they are wastrels or wantons or refuse to go into the family business -- the traditional reasons rich parents withhold money. Says he: ''My kids are going , to carve out their own place in this world, and they know I'm for them whatever they want to do.'' But he believes that setting up his heirs with ''a lifetime supply of food stamps just because they came out of the right womb'' can be ''harmful'' for them and is ''an antisocial act.'' To him the perfect amount to leave children is ''enough money so that they would feel they could do anything, but not so much that they could do nothing.'' For a college graduate, Buffett reckons ''a few hundred thousand dollars'' sounds about right.

If your kids can afford to waste away doing nothing and end up being spoiled rich 'tards in their 20's, 30's, 40's etc, did you really help them? No way in hell, in my honet opinion.
