Although I believe he claims to be 5'9".

I think it's an optical illusion. I'm all for making fun of Tom Cruise (I love the scene from Talladega Nights where Will Ferrel is "on fire"), but she's a step ahead of him there.
Besides, what's wrong with being 5'7" anyways?

He's short for a man (sorry ShawnLee!), and has a fondness for women who are taller then average. Thus, he always looks really small next to them, especially when the women wear heels. I've heard rumors of him wearing platform shoes to boost his height in movies.

He has a fondness for women? My sources say no. What happened to the $5mil/year for 5 year Holmes contract? One of his former publicists knows a friend of mine. I actually wasn't pursuing this info or the rest of the info that came with it which I won't print here. I should go to the Enquirer with this stuff - make some money.
At any rate, I don't think he's 5'7". From what I've heard, he's a couple of inches shorter. His "official height" for the media may be 5'7", but those stats aren't worth much. Copperfield has claimed to be 6' for the past 30 years. I'm 6', and I have to look down to make eye contact with him. He's even been known to stand on his tiptoes when you're taking his picture - lots of Hollywood types do that. Just like the rest of the entertainment world - exaggerations. |
