I'm at the tool concert

Waiting for the concert to start. Very excited.....first one in six years.
Anyone see them on this tour? How was it?

Bah...it wasn't as good as last time. I don't know if it was where I was sitting, but I couldn't hear Maynard through the majority of the songs. The band sounded great, but it's not much without the vocals.

Yeah the first time I saw them on this tour (before Danny hurt himself) was way better than the show after.

the last tool concert i went was a unpleasent experience all around
i wrenched my back while in line for tickets, getting the beers got my shoulder knocked out of socket, really got drilled by the secutiry guard who thought i had weed, took a cab there and got screwed by the driver, but it was all good once i got hammered

I kinda got turned off of Tool after they got Reznor back on heroin. Yes, it was his choice, but still, he left NOLA (he was a nice guy, kinda knew him, played with his dog a lot, ran into him every tuesday at a pizza place, etc.) But when tool was in town, he visited them, shot up, got strung out, then, thankfully, went to rehab. Ended up selling most of his assets in NOLA.

I don't like Reznor's latest CD as much as With Teeth, though. It's kinda boring and not as, well, innovative and fun-sounding.

I thought that rant sounded familiar....

dude, you rant so much about Maynard getting Reznor hooked on smack, but I have yet to find any evidence anywhere that proves it. Were you in the same room when Maynard said "Hey Trent, try some smack!" ? Cite your sources, son, that is, if you have any...

Hey, back off. I know (or knew) the guy, and I know his friends who live here. I'd prefer not to name names. Also, in my line of work, word gets around. I just had it confirmed by mutual acquaintances. This town is smaller than it looks, once you're involved in the entertainment scene, in which I've been involved for a while. "rant so much?" Gimme a break. I mentioned it once before.

I just feel bad for the guy, as he's had drug problems before, and addiction is a terrible illness for which I treat a lot of people. But I'm glad he did what he did to get help and is now kicking ass.

Often in situations like this, where locals know stuff that isn't in the mass media, there won't be any sources to cite. So I guess I and others are sources. But if I don't have a link, and you don't want to believe me, go ahead. I haven't said anything inflammatory about him or bad, just that from what I've heard from reliable people who also know him, he went through a rough time with heroin after Tool was in town, after being clean for a long time. Even on his website, if I recall, he mentioned something about being sober again, etc., around that time. So I really do feel bad for him, as he's a good guy. But I'm glad he's back and making new CDs, even though I don't like Year Zero as much as With Teeth.
