I am lucky. With Audrey being uneducated in downloading and donnie away, she can't ask him for downloads

But that will change...

with that sense, Bleach seems more "caricature-like", illustrations-wise. Naruto characters are drawn more "real", the way the characters are drawn follow a more proportional look to them.
Well... I was speakin' more in terms of graphic violence and bloodshed (even if folks don't die... they are "spirits" you know. )

Also, a few bad words slip here and there in Bleach... but the English dub more or less covers those up.

you think so? i guess its all the slashing with the knives and katanas and spears used in Bleach.
although the hand to hand combats and the shuurikens and those hand thrown knives (what are they called?) in Naruto do connect for a bloody result as well. they seem more painful.

the main characters seem more complex too, with their own sordid histories, all make up for a more mature theme. like Itachi massacre-ing his own family just because he can and leaving his brother to fester in anger and hate and revenge, Gaara unable to literally feel any pain except sadness and loneliness (and his near-madness brought on by insomnia due to fear of being taken over by the sand demon), being outcasts and shunned by your own community (Gaara and Naruto), being treated second-class (Neji), humiliation and perseverance for redemption (rock lee).
and all these happening to KIDS!

i guess its with the impressionability kids that watch it - what they see, they tend to imitate. the could care less about what is transpiring in the characters' lives (they may not even grasp the story lines), but when the real action begins is when they pay attention.

But does the blood gush and squirt all over the place in Naruto? Nope...

In Bleach, it gets REALLY bloody sometimes. Look at the effect of Byukua's "scatter" attack... Just DEVASTATING!!!!

Heh... I'm plodding along with Cartoon Network on episode 57.

Yeah... I could cheat and go download the Japanese versions, but honestly I'm not big on reading subtitles.

Haha my wife is like that too. I prefer subtitles...something about the english dub that makes it difficult to watch.
But yeah, enjoy the Soul Society Arc, I think its by far the best. If you have a chance, watch the "Memories of Nobody" Movie. I liked it.

I can only watch the subtitled ones. I can't stand the voices they use in the English versions of those shows.

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

Honestly, if it were the ONLY voices you heard from the beginning, then you associate those voices with the show.

To hear anything else would be "weird".

I guess this is true....

I just remember the first time I heard Naruto's voice in the english version....there was much cringing and gnashing of teeth.

But like you said...I've only heard the subtitled versions.

For some reason my Tivo failed to record last weeks episode of Bleach. Of course there is no video on demand for Cartoon Network. Damn. Looks like it was a good episode too.

That means you missed some backstory on Kenpatchi and how he became Squad 11 captain... as well as the backstory to why Maki is now affiliated with the Bounts.

Ichigo had a kick@ss episode for sure... however ultimately he ended up needing to be rescued at the end.

If you really wanna see what happend... go here:

Thanks. I needed episode 76 rather than 77. Either way, I was able to grab it.
