Dell dude now a waiter

http://www.activewin.com/awin/commen...ineIndex=41520

Oh, how the mighty have fallen: Ben Curtis, famous just a few years ago as "Steven the Dell Dude," is now a waiter / bartender at Tortilla Flats in New York. Although the Steven ads were hugely popular and generated tons of buzz (and revenue) for Dell, the company eventually dropped the campaign after Ben got arrested for buying pot in 2003 -- shocking no one who actually watched the commercials, but apparently not the message Dell wanted to send the parents fronting the cash for all those machines.

That place is like 6 or 7 blocks from my work! I've been there twice, and will definitely be returning!

"Dude, you're getting me a chimichanga!"

Hmm, is this schadenfreude or just amusement?
Either way, that's funny.

Though, I'm sure he hears it ALL the time.

The mighty? He was only famous because Dell made him famous. Any 2 bit high school actor could have done those commercials.

They ought to round up all of those failed (or soon to be) spokespersons and put them all into a giant themed restaurant somewhere: The taco bell dog, the "where's the beef" ladies, the geico cavemen, Can You Hear Me Now guy and all the collect call guys (including John Stamos and Carrot top).

Hmmm...I may want to throw Jared from subway on that list, but I'll have a wait a few more years for Subway to get tired of him.

Edit: Oh yeah, put that annoying Sony PSP guy in there too. Or kill him outright. Whatever's easier.

Love the idea for the restaurant!

And I wonder how often he is actually recognized. I'm sure he had makeup and hair stuff done for the commercials, and he's a few years older... kinda sad in some ways.
