Mnf - 3-0
Longest, stupidest game ever.
Who the hell allows four games to be played on their field in the middle of winter, resod the day before a televised game and think everything is going to be good. Stupid Steelers front office. On a side note: I would love for the dolphins to go 0-16 while the pats go 16-0 ![]() |

Seriously, what were those in charge on the turf thinking putting down the new sod? I'm sure rain was in the forecast and didn't completely surprise them. I wonder how bad the turf was that they thought they needed to resod.
I'm just glad the weather didn't cost me my fantasy football win. The Steelers D almost pulled it out for my opponent.

I thought that one punt that came down nose first and just stuck in the sod (without a bounce) was hilarious. But the game as a whole was a real snoozer.

Yeah, the game looked like they were playing in the Everglades but the stuck punt was funny.
Fortunately I wasn't relying on Parker for my fantasy win ass I had already outscored my opponent before the game. ![]()

In defense of the Steelers, rain was expected but torrential rain that broke records was not not expected. The field would have been fine if it was not torrential. The field was covered but the field was not covered by one continuous piece of tarp and because the rain was torrential it leaked through the "seams" in the tarp.
The reason why the field was allowed to have so many games played on it the same weekend as a Steelers home game is due to the fact that the Steelers front office is HUGE when it comes to supporting the local community and they want the area HS teams to have access to the fields for big games. They believe that the public spent some of their moeny (i.e tax dollars) on the field and the public should get to use their field and I agree with them. All of that being said, it was a dreadful and painful game. |

yeah, you nailed it. the Rooney's ARE a huge part of the community around here. 4 out of 7 nights a week theres some sort of fund raiser(tonight is a concert for NO with Alan Faneca and members of the DVE radio morning show doing a benefit for musicians in NO, with DR. JOHN!!!!!!! headlining) that involves atleast one Steeler starter. and this is during season... i think its great, yeah, MNF sucked, but its great for the community.
Pittsburgh as seen as a dirty city revolving around the old steel mills, which in recent years is just plain not rue, theres a TON of high tech jobs around here. hell, Westinghouse is building a brand new headquarters complex less than a mile from where i live (which is considered a suburb of pittsburgh) in the fastest growing boro in PA, Cranberry TWP.
