I have mixed feelings about it...

Just the thought of K.I.T.T. being a Furd Mustang instead of the new Camaro (since current year Firebird TransAms don't exist anymore) is borderline blasphemy.

They must've been watching the Transformers movie when they made the switch.

I'll watch it... hopefully they haven't drastically changed anything else with "the formula".

The rider is no longer named Knight. That's a big change in itself.

OK... I guess they did a good job exlpaining the changes.

********************** SPOILER ALERT ***************************

Scroll past really quick if you haven't seen the show yet.

******************* SPOILERS START HERE... BEWARE!!!! *******************

This version is NOT the same as the original.... this "Micheal" is the son of Micheal Knight and now the car is the Knight Industries THREE Thousand. How nice.

Man... I was really lookin' forward to seeing "Devon" appearing... but it didn't happen. Instead, we got the guy who built the original K.I.T.T. and the new one (Charles Graiman).

Nice that they use "Nanobots" to repair K.I.T.T. as he gets damaged.... still indestructible as ever.

Overall, it was entertaining... and one long "commercial ad" for Furd... Time to go buy a new Focus or Mustang. Umm... NOT!!! ( Mojo j/k )

BTW... nice Guest Appearance by "The Hoff" at the end.

So, being a quality Ford product, did K.I.T.T. suffer any sudden unexplained mechanical failures and have to be left on the side of the road for the trailer to come and pick him up?

Jeez. I thought it sucked. As for one long ad... did they have to have the bad guys driving brand new (and sparkly clean) GM vehicles? Come on. Let the bad guys drive Dodges at least! Oh, that's right, had it been a hemi the bad guys would have gotten away.

spoiler....

I was done watching when the Mustang/Tahoe collision happened. I don't care if you're bulletproof. Something 5700# hits you, you're moving. Dumb.

Actually he did... his "mainframe" got hacked and it took him offline.

We are talkin' K.I.T.T. here...

Short of "Goliath" (the 18 Wheeler with the same indestructible skin) that car ain't gonna budge. That's just the beauty of it.

What you didn't see were all the nano's pushing back against the SUV...
It was amusing... oh but no way in hell are you making it from the bay to LV in 3 hours. I know you "can" go 200 mph, but umm there are no traffic anomalies between SF and LV, there is just traffic! And you can't get around that at 200.

I dunno, I found it cheesy in parts, but then remembered how cheesy the original was too Thought it was cool when "young" Mike would kinda "bounce-run" a couple steps just like his "daddy" did 25ish years ago.

It was a good show to introduce the charactors and bring in the history. They accomplished that better than I thought they would. I was not looking forward to seeing something that didn't do that.

What I liked best about it, was Mikey loved it. And he is just a year older than I was when the original aired

OH, One complaint. If they are going to keep Val Kilmer as KITT's voice, he needs to be not so monotone.

Heh...

It's Josh safe.

How old is Josh again? DFJ and I watched most of it together and he's 7 (will be 8 in March)

Has knight rider ever been not kid safe? I know the Hoff hit on the cute mechanic a couple times... Mmm Bonnie. but we never even got to a kiss...

Oh and my friend said the same thing about the car crash. He said you saw bullet damage, but a smashing by a huge vehicle and nothing? It seemed a little funky.

And i didn't realize it was Val! I knew the voice but couldn't place it. Thats awesome.

Lastly, this seems like they jacked an episode of viper!

Anyone know when Knight Rider will return with new episodes? All they said last week was "After the holidays," so I'm guessing January?

From what I've been hearing, new episodes will start Dec. 31st, but the entire season was cut down to 18 episodes -- so the finale will be in February.

Just saw it was canceled, and they have stopped production.

This show totally deserved it.

This is what happens when you go "over the top" on a show that was already "over the top".

Still, if only "K.I.T.T." were real... a "self valet" vehicle, now I'd buy that!

Hehe. Reminds me of the Baywatch episode where they catch a car that is amphibious. And one of the lifeguards says to the Hoff, "Man, that car does everything but talk". and The Hoff says, "It doesn't talk? Throw it back."

I was pretty bummed that this show flopped on the first episode. The TV movie wasn't so bad and I actually enjoyed the "plot extension" from the original TV show.

But then the first episode came on, KITT's dash went from Hi-tech to shoddy Ford interior with a snow globe. He then transforms into a hideous creature that looks like it was spawned from Star Wars and Fast and the Furious mating. I mean, a glowing "KR" on the bottom of the car when you're supposed to be driving a "top secret weapon"? Come on.

The green screen driving effects were horrible too. Watched 5 minutes of the second episode and haven't watched a single one since.

This could have been so good if they would have just stuck with what they had in the TV movie. I really don't understand why they made all the changes when the show started.

Mostly, it's because TV execs think too hard about what REALLY entertains the masses. Honestly, I don't really understand alot of their decisions as far as what passes for "prime time TV" these days.
