Missed going to Sundays exhibition game because of last minute work.

Small scare at Tuesdays exhibition when Kobe hyperextended his knee, but it should be ok. The Olympics have to have taken some toll on him. Hopefully, he'll have enough for our title run this year.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-...,6433861.story

Good thing the Lakers are the deepest team in NBA. The bench (mob) look better than last year. Odom deserves to come off the bench... for now. There will be growing pains, but the twin towers should really make it interesting.

Thumbs up

So after 2 games it's starting to look like the team I thought it would be. Best defensive team. Deepest team. A top 5 scoring team.

Blowing out the Clippers is no biggie, but Portland (my dark horse pick) usually plays us tough. Oden got hurt again and thats not a good sign for them. I am mostly waiting for games against the Spurs, Hornets, Jazz, Houston, Celtics, Cavs, and maybe Detroit to see much better we really are this year. Many people didn't pick the Show to even win the west this year. There should be a title and only a key injury can derail this team imo.

Bynum is supposed to be locked up for 4 years now. If he stays healthy, he's probably worth it. Looks like Kobe will be good for 20/6/6 or so in less minutes. I don't care what he averages as long as he has enough to get through the playoffs. Bynum is up and down, but should settle in soon. Gasol seems happy at pf. Fish is still getting it done and will be fine as a starter or a part of the Bench Mob. Farmar and Ariza should be a permanent part of the starting lineup imo. Deep deep team with the pieces to grab a another key player if we need one later. As long as Odom doesn't mind his new role, he could get 6th man and a title this year.

4 and zzzzzzzzzz

i didn't even bother watching last nights game against the clips. saw a movie with a friend instead. from what i read, it was a messy game and the show clamped down on d in the 4th. they should be clamping down in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so that people can rest. not a good sign imo. bynum grabbed 17 boards, Ariza and Odom seem to be doing well in their new roles. Kobe is averaging 33 minutes a game. if they keep it that low or lower for the rest of the season...
poor clippers are in transition. some say they got burned by Brand bolting to the sixers. truth is they waited when they should have offered the fat contract from the get-go. they got camby for nothing and that shoud help.
in other news, i am waiting to see how the new pistons and new nuggets play out. iverson for billups. i can't see AI adding enough with all they gave up, but if they click, watch out weak east. this trade should improve the nuggets slightly, but i can't see them going far in the playoffs unless chauncey really rubs off on the rest of the team. plus they gave away camby. fools!

lakers will play again on Sunday against the new Rockets. great match up imo. this should be a good indicator, but either way, the show will continue to improve as the season goes on.

Ok so were 14 and 1. Not bad. Lost to detroit in a game where the show just never got going. When the team is clicking, they are the best team in the league. They just don't always click. The show just has too many weapons and Odom coming off the bench has been great. Ariza has been my fav player. Hustle, effort, energy all make for good things. Kobe has been player the lakers need for a Championship run. Next up is a real test... 3 game road trip.

In this power rankings, they have the Show 1st. On mines its the Celts, at least until there is a bigger disparity between wins/ their 2 games against us. And I am very much looking forward to seeing them go heat to head again.

Bwahahaaahaaa!!!!!!!!

Missed a few, but here's one to celebrate.

Just beat them again, but this time without Bynum in the line up. So it was a little closer this time. The look on their faces is the same one I've seen from many many teams over the years. That's that look of knowing that you can't stay with the Show. All I wanted last Christmas was to whup the leprechauns and tonight without Bynum in the lineup... That just makes tonights game the icing on the cake. LOL at their fans. You won't be repeating so might as well start rooting for baseball or something.

Anyways... Drew is out for 8-12 weeks, but last years injury was supposed to be that too. Different injuries, but I am just hoping he doesn't become another Bowie.

Kobe set a record at the Garden the other night. Beat MJs record double nickel (55pts) by 6. Then Bron went there and went off for 50 and triple double. The Basketballs Gods have been good to us this year. In an amazing year, the Lakers have the best record in the NBA. 4 team with very good records. 3 running neck in neck. The 4th best record team, Orlando, probably matches up the best with us right now.

If Drew makes it back and the core is healthy through the playoffs, expect that long over due parade.

Keep the faith and GO SHOW!

The Booty speaks the truth. As cool as we are and as much as we can probably crush the west, the celtics could easily have won that game. If KG doesn't wipe sweat off of derek and get called for the foul, i'm pretty sure the celtics win...

I just hope LBJ or Orlando or detroit beats the celtics so we don't have to. I just don't think we line up well against ray and paul.

if only the LAKERS hit their freethrows yesterday that game wouldn't have been that close... shooting 58% (17 of 29) from the line is pathetic... not to mention if bynum was in we would have been even better... celtics are only missing scalabrine i think... GO LAKERS.. can't believe its been 7 years already since we won it all... time flies

to streak busters! Winning streaks of 17 and 12 or whatever and a 20 game home streak broken by your Los Angeles Lakers.

2 and 0 vs the Celtics and Cavs.

0 and 2 vs the Magic, but the lost their pg so who knows what they will be like know.

6 and 0 on east trip.

LO goes off for 28 and 17 and has been great as a starter. Good that he got thrown to the ground in last years finals and then ended up on the bench. I think he is finally motivated during his contract year.

In some years the reg season doesn't mean a lot, but when home court is as precious as it is this year... Last years celts won both reg season games. This year I don't think they will make the finals since they will have to go through 2 or more elite teams before facing the show at this rate. Either way, looks like the Lakers are the best team in the league without Bynum in the lineup.

All your streak belong to us.

1st to 50 wins!

Show had a bad 2 game stretch, but look good for upcoming road trip. I think the injury is paying big dividends already. The bench LO was on fire and has come back down to earth, but if he plays the way he is capable of, we won't need drew back. And when drew does come back...

And to those who say the regular season means nothing, wait and see how the home court plays out this year. Even last year the celtics wouldn't have gone to the finals if they didn't have it.

i'm surprised no one commented on the foul/suspension from the other night.

having played bball, that was flagrant and he ment to take the guy out. you don't block a guy like that, you take a guy off the backboard. hell a COLLEGE kid did it yesterday in the big east tourny, same situation. fast break, came from directly behind he guy and swatted the ball off the backboard.

Fair enough. Artest is go off and on he drives me crazy.

Kobe is off and on, but when he's on, its insane...

Hope the rockets roll into the playoffs and i'm sure we'll meet again.

I wonder how KG is doing. he's been out awhile.

Horrible. The Lakers rise and fall to the level of the competition. 2 bad losses to 2 bad teams in a key stretch that may hurt in the finals. I think the bench rises and falls on Farmars play and it's been pretty bad lately. Kobe has been tired. Lamar is back down from the level he played at after he got a starting spot. Ariza has been a little out of control.

That was the bad.

The good is that Portland is the only team we will have to worry about in the playoffs to get to the finals. Spurs, Rockets, Jazz, and Hornets will not win a series against us unless we lose a key player. Bynum should be back soon and even if he can't do it all, he should contribute. Gasol has been solid. Unbelievably solid. In fact, we wouldn't have lost those last 2 games if the Lakers were watching the game and could have figured out to just keep feeding him. He's a little soft, but can finish and grabs boards consistently. Kobe will be himself once the playoffs start unless there is an injury that he can't shake. The team/bench have plenty of playoff experience from last years run and will play better this time.

In the East it looks like the Celtics won't even be there this year. KG is shut down til the playoffs and unless the cavs fall, they won't have home court throughout. If they do make it, it will be sweeter. Bron has done it, but not against the Lakers. I worry the most about the Magic. If Bynum is there, it will help, but Superman is a 20/20 type of guy and is the new Shaq. They can hit 3's and beat us both times we met. I have to say we will probably lose to them or maybe...

Well not much to talk about... Beat the 2nd seed Nuggets again. Had a horrible 1st half... well should have been up by 10+. It started as Bynum lost the tipoff... That's right Andrew Bynum lost the tipoff and I couldn't be happier! Played 20 minutes and went 16 and 7. He was a little rusty, but still matched his averages. Though his numbers were on the way up when got injured. Anyways, barring any new injuries, no team will challenge in the west. West home court is locked up though the cavs need to lose one and Lakers need to win out to lock it up throughout. All doable imo.

With 3 or 4 games left, the playoffs are shaping up. We'll most likely get Dallas, Utah or New Orleans in the 1st round. Though there 2nd - 8th are separated by 4 games. Dallas will be the easiest, but I don't see any problems playing any of them. San Antonio is a non factor now that Manu is out. This may be the end of their run according to some writers, but I think they'll be back for one or 2 more before timmay gets too beat up. Houston has taken their place, but will have to have a great series to get past the Lakers. Rockets got better and better since losing McGrady. That will mark Tracys career along with soft and always injured and never winning a playoff series. Portland is the dark horse and a potential 2nd round opponent especially since the Spurs are going down. Blazers have so much young talent and they play really well against the show, but now that we have Bynum back... This could all change, but with only a few games left...

In the East, the Cav's have basically locked up home court and are now playing to not tie the Lakers since we have the tie breaker. That along with their home record (they ony have 1 loss at home... from your Los Angeles Lakers of course), makes them the easy pick. They should give the Lakers a good series, but we'll see. Next ranked is the Celtics. More on them later. Then there is my other not so dark horse, the Magic. They are the scary team. A monster in the middle and sharp shooters. They also play some d and are athletic. If they got rolling, they could challenge and would be difficult to beat in the finals. Hopefully LeBron will have something to say about or the old, tired, injured, stink.. Celtics. Speaking of which, KG is injured. He will try to play through it, but it won't matter. Even if they get past the Magic (they wont) and then somehow beat the King, they will come then have to come play at the Lake and will get dismantled. Bynum wasn't too happy with last years match up and trust me, no one on the Celtics wants any of him. Out of the big 3, the Celtics are the only team that won't win 1 game against the show. So it was a nice run. Won't be seeing you in the finals again any time soon. Miami is there thanks to wade, but it won't be enough. It's funny, 8th seeded Detroit went from a perennial East Champs to chumps in 2 seasons. They traded Billups for Iverson so that they could have a shot at the king and will end up with nothing for their troubles. Stupid trade. Helped the Nuggets get 2nd though. They and the rest of the east are non factors imo.

It's almost like a reversal of the west and east this year.

Laker fans, we are close.

Lakers are in. KG is out, and the show goes on...

In an interesting set of events yesterday, the Bulls lost to a non-playoff team and the 76ers beat the cavs at home. Thus clevland didn't tie the home court record and the Bulls slipped to the 7th seed and face the Celtics. I think that's bad as the bulls have been playing well lately while the 76ers have been skiddng down.

On the west side, Houston lost and San Antonio won so SA gets 3rd seed when it was looking like 5th seed. Dallas won and the Hornets lost meaning Dallas sneaks up to the 6th seed and the hornets slide to 7th. Should make for some good series.

The Maarchk Predictions

Lakers Vs Jazz Lakers in 5.

Nuggets Vs Hornets Nuggets in 6.

Spurs Vs Mavs Mavs in 6.

Rockets Vs Blazers Rockets in 7.

Cavs Vs Pistons Cavs in 5.

Celtics Vs Bulls Celtics in 7.

Magic Vs 76ers Magic in 6.

Heat Vs Atlanta Heat in 6.

The Stage is set.

Bynum is back and playing as well as can be expected. The Lakers will only get better as they playoffs go on since he is still getting his timing down and they are starting to jel. Farmar is still MIA. I had high hopes... The good news is that Shannon Brown has really shined as a big physical guard that finishes well and can guard other big guards. Barring any injuries they Lakers will be scary good when they reach the finals. They won't have any problems with the Jazz or any other team that is not playing in portland. Besides that, home court wouldn't really be needed this year for the Show to make the finals. So not much to see here in the west imo. Though I will be watching the Rockets vs Portland series.

Lakers should sweep playoffs or maybe lose a game in Portland.

In the east, Cavs did what they needed to do. I am sure that win or fail to win a title, LBJ will leave when his contract is up. He's now upset that fans boo when the cavs fail to reach 100 pts and get them free tacos. We have the same promo in LA and Kobe makes sure we get coupons for those nasty taco bell treats. All that is non news compared to KG not coming back for the playoffs. The injury must be real cuz you know he would if he could... It must be really bad and might have played a part in Ainges mild heart attack. The stress must be incredible. Hope he gets better. Not that KG would have gotten them another one, but now they have no chance. Ray Allen says that they have to look at it like a challenge or something. I lol'd him saying at that.

Cavs looked invulnerable at home this year. They lost 2 games there and gave one away resting their key players. I think that Cavs will go to the finals, but will lose 1 or 2 of their home games along the way. If they do fall, it will be to the Magic.

Teh predictions*

#1 Lakers vs #8 Jazz: Lakers in 4

#2 Nuggets vs Hornets: Hornets in 6

#3 Spurs vs Mavs: Mavs in 6

#4 Blazers vs #5 Rockets: Rockets in 6

#1 Cavs vs #8 Pistons: Cavs in 4

#2 Celtics vs #7 Bulls: Bulls in 7

#3 Magic vs #6 76ers: Magic in 5

#4 Atlanta vs #5 Heat: Heat in 6

Finally, it begins.

GO SHOW!!!

*Teh predictions are for entertainment purposes only. Anyone who uses/misuses this information for legal/not so legal activities does so at their own risk. Besides, we all know it's fixed whenever the Lakers don't win it all.

Nothing to worry about... should have wrapped it up in 4, but will finish it tonight and rest up for round 2. The extra game might be good for Bynum and the bench. Luke is out for at least a week. Will probably affect the bench. Fisher might have picked up a wife... probably from his utah days. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4106192
Shows how little I care about the playoffs so far.

Rockets are up 3-1. Dallas is up the same on spurs. Like it matters. Chauncey has been schooling CP3, but they are the nuggets will probably lose the series up 2-1.

The best series so far has been the Bulls Celts 2-2 with rookie Rose having an impressive run and guard Rhondo holding up the celtics with 2 triple doubles. Home court favors celtics but they already look really tired out there against the much younger bulls. Cavs did what the show should have done and are resting. Hawks vs dwayne has had some moments, but can either team go anywhere after this? Orlando has its hands full. It's 2-2 and if they don't pull it out, the cavs will have a cake walk to the finals. The cavs could go undefeated if Orlando and the celtics dont make it to round 2. Which will be nice for them cuz the finals will be a whole different story.

GO SHOW!!!

Well well well... Round 2.

WEST:

I went to see Wolverine friday and my date asked who that person in the front was that people were posing with for pictures. Looked like Bynum to me and sure enough when he stood up... Seemed real nice. Too bad his game has been so bad lately. Too many playboy mansion parties they say. I say there can never be too much... He should be getting better game by game and will have his biggest impact in the Finals.
Rockets have no answer for Kobe or Odom or Gasol. Yao will get his, but who else will? Maybe one of the guards?
Game 1 Monday.
Dallas/Denver. Meh. Expect to see more antics. Neither team has what it takes so I couldn't care less.

EAST
Somehow the Celtics got over. It was a great series. Some good shots/plays, but for the most part, a lot of ugly basketball. The Bulls run a terrible offense. Run up the floor, pass it to the wing and let him create. Or run up the floor, try to get to the lane and pass it/get the ball deflected/stolen or throw up a prayer and hope for a call. Just that they couldn't do it with Garnett out shows how far they are from contention.

Teh Predictions:
WEST
Lakers in 4.
Denver in 6 I guess.

EAST
Cavs in 4.
Magic in 4.

Almost perfect help side defense by the Rockets.

How can Gasol and Bynum not get to the line more, and Odom gets to the line to the tune of 1-6? Not good for the Lakers.

If they continue to allow 160lb. Aaron Brooks in the lane it's going to be a long series.
