I think maybe she's just good enough to be naturally awesome, seductive, etc, but not good enough to be arrogant or over confident, etc.

i usually try not to judge music with one listen, but I personally think she sounds horrible. that is not the type of singing i usually enjoy if I want to listen to "vocals." but i think the voice is very appropriate for acid jazz, trip hop or lounge--which is what nouvelle vague is--where the vocal track is often simply a minor part of the overall composition.

but i agree as an overall package, even with the voice, the girl is extremely sexy.

I sort of agree with ArkiStan. But how could you really judge the background singers vocals. That was a falsetto and I think she did okay.

Maybe they clean it up a lot in the studio, but I've heard MUCH better in the same genre - like Beth Hirsch, Emilíana Torrini, Geike Arnaert, Elizabeth Fraser, Jill Alikas-St. Thomas, Sarah Cracknell.....

Wow I was bombed last night. I didn't know I made it to 11:24pm (EST).

I still think she's sexah, but beer goggle effect was certainly a factor.
