The Refs have been horribly bad. They lose to Denver after the Refs whistled a fumble dead when they shouldn't have. They also whistled a play dead lastnight against Indy that was a fumble as well. But it couldn't be reviewed because they whistled it dead as an "Incomplete pass."

Exactly Thesifer. Even though I think the Chargers are their own worst enemy, the refs have definitely been killing us this year also.

But really I'm just bitter.

I agree with that Denver game, but I missed that rule on the Indy game. Maybe they should bring back instant replay like the old days.

I think the coach (since he only has 2 challenge flags) should be able to challenge ANY call on the field. It won't add too much time, and it would be beneficial for the really bad calls.

Not sure how to fix the Play blown dead thing, cause that's more of a "The players stop doing anything when it's blown dead so you can't recover a fumble.. etc etc." But that's a REF Training thing. If there's ANY doubt, they should hold off on the whistle.

But I think the Challenge flags should be more versatile. Like if you call Pass interference a coach can challenge, and it can be looked at again.

Because again, this doesn't really add a lot to the game as they have the flags anyways, and only 2.

I wouldn't be too proud of that game. Manning was kinda sloppy from what I was seeing.

Go Cowboys!

Norv Turner happened. It just took a year for him to undo all of Marty's good work.

I'm sorry, but that was the dumbest personnel move I think I've ever witnessed. Marty S. may not have won the big one, but he took his teams to the playoffs year after year. That brings in the fans and the money. To throw that away and gamble on a guy who's done nothing as a head coach in his career was sheer folly.

That's definitely true. How do you fire a guy who goes 14 -2 in his last year. The Spanos family has a grudge against you that's how. Personally I think the Spanos are trying to pull a Major League tactic, and make the team so crappy they have the ability to move the team. I'm sorry to say it because I'm a big Chargers fan, but I'm willing to bet that unless the Chargers pull a miracle and some how make the playoffs, they'll be leaving San Diego for another city in the next 2 years.

They got rid of a bunch of people that were good. Oh well. And with Merriman hurt, they have no chance this year. Maybe it will get better. Did the move to Chula Vista not pan out or what?

The Chula Vista location is the only one that is a real possibility at this point, based on the land that is available to develop a new stadium. However from what I gather the Chargers organization isn't too keen on that idea. Instead, their ideal situation is just to take over the Mission Valley location, as long as they are given the rights to develop the property around it. Personally I think that it a good idea, as the trolley goes right through there already and plus it is ideal since it is central San Diego. However the City doesn't want to let them have it mostly because the Spanos have screwed over the city in the past, and the Mission Valley location looks too lucrative. I also think that the Chula Vista location is a good option, but I really doubt that the Spanos would consider putting it so close to the border.

You probably already know that Thesifer. I'm just letting other folks know in case they don't.

My Patsies being knocked out (the first 11-5 team to miss the playoffs since 1985, f'ing B***S*** ), I can only console myself by rooting against the teams I hate.

That being said, was mighty pleasant watching Peyton Manning get knocked out against all odds. Now we just need someone to put that whiny little B**** LT out next week, and then the Steelers as well. And with any luck, the Giants and the Ravens as well. Then I can accept this year's season in peace.

(Yes, I posted this in two threads. Yes, it means that much to me )

Siefert had an absolutely incredible game punting as well. I don't think I have ever seen a better performance by a punter in a game- it was critical for field position and kept the Colts backed up in their own end which helped the defense. Chargers did pretty good for a .500 team playing against a team who had won nine in a row. They kept pressure on Manning and the secondary kept the long receivers covered. Charger receivers had troubles getting open too. Then there is some kid named Darren Sproles. If the Chargers had avoided the two turnovers in the end zone they could have won by more. They are definately peaking at the right time.

It was an amazing game. I saw the post game interviews and I thought that Peyton and Dungy are class acts.

yes they are. and i agree about the punter. if not for him repeatedly pinning the colts deep, i don't think the chargers win the game.

and how funny was the td throw to reggie wayne when the snapped it quickly and took off. the cb was looking at the sidelines as wayne sprinted past him.
