Wow. RIP. I wonder how he will be remembered in the years to come. Pop genius or the weirdo he became. Elvis seems to mostly be remembered for his good days, but Jacksons weird era was long and very very strange.

Sucks - but somehow not surprising.

Very sad. I was hopeful about his comeback tour. I wasn't going to see a concert, but I was hoping that he would be able to revive his career.

Yahoo said he has the top 15 selling albums(?) at amazon. He was just about to go on tour. His attorney said something about him using too many pain killers. Guess most people will try to remember him pre scandal(s).

Yup...

The "REAL" Micheal Jackson was with us through the 80s and early 90s... and then he was replaced with the "eccentric" Micheal.

Honestly, I just would've wished that Mike would have stayed the "old him" versus his "reinvention"... but I guess that "Papa Joe" never made him feel that the "old him" was good enough.

My kids look at me funny when I tell them there was a time when Michael Jackson was the coolest person on Earth. I don't think I've listened to any album as much as I listened to Thriller.

In 20-30 years, that's how he'll be remembered.

Frankly, I thought FoxNews had the best article on his death, mainly because the picture they used of Michael Jackson, which was on their main page, was from the late 70s rather than the one from last year that shows Michael Jackson of the 21st century with the plastic face and all.

Edit: I know today CNN and UASToday have better pictures of Michael Jackson but yesterday they used very unflattering pictures in their front page articles.

You should watch the Robot Chicken explanation of what happened to the old and new MJ.

Anyways. RIP.

His personal life was pretty messed up but his music was pretty incredible. I was at the San Diego County Fair (pics to follow later) and heard rumours which were confirmed for me by an announcement by the B52s as they took the stage.

Mom saw something on TV about a doctor prescribing him a truckload of drugs. What's with this?
