I just read a summary of his life in NYT. I have always felt he was one of the most creative performers..ever. Thriller was possibly the best album..ever. I will always remain a fan of him.

But how was he able to blow his entire fortune away in such a short period? He was actually renting a home before he died.

Eccentric lifestyle + being sued by multiple folks can do that rather quickly.

But that is the price that is paid for being "larger than life"... Honestly, you'd be hard pressed to find much larger "global icons" than Micheal Jackson (even though attitudes towards him pretty much cooled off over the past decade here in America).
