Second Triple By Pass

Completed my second Triple By Pass Ride on Sat. Just about 8 hours of ride time. Here is a link to the ride I tracked it using my Blackberry and a site called Trimble Outdoors. take a look if you wish. Its pretty amazing what the human body can do considering I'm no where near athlete caliber material.

Wow. That's a pretty good average considering all of the climbing. How many people rode the event and did it break up pretty quickly or were you able to ride with others?

There were about 3500 riders total. It did break up but there are people of all levels so you always have someone to ride with. I rode with three firends so it makes it nice to pull on the flats. The really cool part was at the very end we got into a paceline of about 20 guys and pulled on the average of about 30mph for about 20 miles. They stop all of traffice in Vail and Avon so at that pace it was pretty cool. Already booked my room for next year. Want to cut down the time to right about 7 hours ride time.

30 mph on the flats with 100 miles in their legs and over 15k in elevation behind them.

July 10, 2010 is the Ride Date. My new year's eve is spent staying up to register. It closed in 43 hours last year. If you can find someone to carpool with stay at Quality Inn Suites on Evergreen Pkwy on Friday night. Take a car to Avon and then leave it over night there. Carpool back to Evergreen. On Ride day ride to the start about 2.5 miles, and then on to Avon. Then carpool back from Avon after you finish.

Yeah never been in a paceline with that many that knew what they were doing. We covered it so fast it was unbelieveable. There were even brief seconds after coming out of Round Abouts where I hit close to 50 MPH to get back onto the back of the wheel of the guy in front of me. It was crazy nuts but a blast.

Now onto losing 25 more pounds and spending major time on the squat rack for next few evetns and for next year. Have the Copper Traingle August 1, and Moab Century in September. Well see how long getting up at 4 to lift and then ride into work lasts. Plus picking up Cyclocross in the winter. Busy Busy.

No but based on my addiction to Cycling thank God I dont drink much or do drugs or I be down a bad path. Lance is going to be doing the Leadville 100 again this year and trying to convince Levi from what I hear to come out to race with him. I may be assisting a friend as support for the ride and it would be cool to see Lance and Levi on Mtn bikes as they pass by.
