The animation blew me away. I don't know how they do it... so incredibly awesome. The storyline could have used some work though. Overall, a decent movie full of eye candy. It was worth the $5 I paid for the graphics alone.

I agree....story needed some work....also, I didn't like the fact that they used actors that were recognizable for the voices. I thought it was very distracting to here someone's voice, but it didn't look like the person it should have.

I think that's true.. I haven't seen it yet. But from the trailers it was a little distracting, especially since the movie's suppose to be all serious. For something like Shrek, it worked well.

But I guess they wanted to draw in more people to watch the movie by having famous voices. Otherwise only people into CG and animation would be going...... it's all about the bottomline. bling bling...

I didn't realize that Steve Buschemy was a voice in the movie until I heard it for the first time. It brought a smile to my face. He's such a clown! Aki was totally hot too, and that nude picture I have of her is mighty nice! haha

Ha, you're just jealous sbp!!

Oh, the thing about the voices and lips being out of synch... just think about it this way: this is a 3D animated film, which has to be rendered - a very very time consuming process. I can't say if the voices were done first, or if the mouth animation was done first. My guess is that the speech was recorded first from the script in most cases, and then the animators tried their best to match it. However, if a certain scene was rendered to completion, and it was noticed that the speech was not totally matching the mouth, it would be in their best interest in terms of both time and money to bring the actor in again and record the lines.

I'm not into the FF games or anything like that, but this is easily in competition for the best movie of the year. I was there with my brother in law opening night and this ain't no Toy Story animation. Sure, the plot is based on some new-age, squirrel-hugger idea of reality, but if you overlook that, this flick is the best $5.50 i've spent in a long time.

I've still yet to see this movie, but after watching Shrek today, I was once again amazed at the level of reality that CG is accomplishing....the hair on the donkey!! holy christ!!! I used to do 3D animation during college (3D MAX, Maya, Form Z) and it sure is fun trying to imitate reality with an application that can be run on a home PC....

All I can say is WOW. I actually thought the celebrity voicing was kindof cool. In the very least they didn't have a voice coming out of a body that didn't match it. I'd have to say that trophy goes to Das Boot. The english overdubbing has this wierd voice coming out of the red haired officer who I think is the 1st mate, it just doesn't work.

Saw it, liked it.
When it all comes down to it, the only real question that matters about a movie is: Did you enjoy the time you spent watching it?
My answer is Yes.

I finally got to see it. All you people are complaining about the storyline, but considering it's a cartoon (in a way), its plot had more thoughtful concepts and a deeper conclusion than most science fiction movies out there. There was great danger of the movey turning out totally idiotic (plot-wise) because of overemphasis on the visuals. They avoided that very well I think.
