i thought i saw a little ad for a story on the front page of msn.com earlier today that dubbed m. night shyamalan "the next spielberg" or some outrageous garbage like that. i mean, what the hell? he's made what, four or five movies (mediorce ones at that) and someone has the gall to call him the next steven spielberg? that's just ridiculous.

i'm sorry. i'm just not a big fan of shyamalan, and i have no desire whatsoever to see signs. so i'm also not surprised to hear it was disappointing... i expect it would be...

oh, oh, and wait, lemme guess, was there some sort of twist at the end of the movie? like, something to make the audience go "oohhhh," just like he did in sixth sense and unbreakable? sheesh... what a hokey gimmick...

see, even with insomnia...

i didn't watch it, but i do know that it's a remake of a swedish movie (i believe) starring stellan skarsgard, but the thing is, the original, which is also called "Insomnia," only came out in 1997 !

when christopher nolan's version first came out, i was thinking to myself, "hmm, it's got the same title as that one swedish movie, but i'm sure the two aren't related." then a friend of mine who actually saw it told me the plotline and i was shocked. but then again, maybe i'm not being fair...

maybe i'm just a bitter person... but who remakes a movie that's only 5 years old??

I STILL don't see what the big deal about The Sixth Sense was. It was one of the most boring and hyped up movies i've ever seen. Insomnia wasn't THAT good either. Maybe I'm just a little bitter (at least i have a reason )
