Talking Donnie Darko

Has anyone seen it? I've seen it several times, and I own the DVD. I actually watched it again last night (a friend had my DVD for a few months, so I had to see it again).

This movie is a thinker movie and defiantly one to see if you're a movie buff (and if you ARE a movie buff, why haven't you seen it??). This movie is about time travel, and this kid sees this big giant bunny rabbit that tells him the world is going to end. There are SO many good things about this movie, and the way it's done is just great.

I know it sounds kind of weird, but give it a chance! Go rent it! And heck, it got 4 stars.

It was also done by the same people who did "Final Destination" and includes the main actor from "October Sky" in this movie as well.

two thumbs up

Don't forget, he was also in Bubble Boy! And, he's coming out in that new movie with Susan Sarandon and Dustin Hoffman.

But didn't he direct other movies? It's much easier to make films you recently write when you're already an accomplished director....or I would think anyway. I'm sure Speilberg could make anything he wanted for example.

nope it's the only movie he's directed so far. i mean, that is, if you don't count the stuff he did in film school.

but yeah, it's unusual for someone as young as he was to get a project like donnie darko, especially as his first film. it's impressive.

I posted something on this movie a while ago. I don't think i convinced many people to peep it out.
Definitely worth seeing and that tricked out soundtrack is very cool IMO.
Gotta love the twisties.

I could have sworn the soundtrack wasn't available. Maybe after they made more money they realised it?

actually I dont know if the soundtrack is available. I was talking about the songs they played in the movie. Kinda like that Manson take on "tainted love."

I LOVE the song during the montage at the end. It's a mad world? I think that's the name of it. God, that song makes you think...GOOD MOVIE!!!

Did you know that the actors and crew got paid close to nothing for this movie? It was mostly a movie where they volunteered to be in it. That's dedication!

The song in the end was well placed and choreographed to go very well along with the end of the movie.

Mad World was one of the best songs of that era. The way they used the song, made it one of the better montage scenes ive seen. I dont like a lot of remakes but that "generic"(dont know the artist) version was very good.

*shovel* *bump*

I just watched this movie. Super, super freaky and a whole lot of kick ass. This movie is definitely going to be in my library real soon.

By the way, my birthday is on October 30th. For those of you who have seen this movie you will know what that means. I always knew I was evil

ok...
i just saw this, and I'm kinda confused.... actually, very confused.... what the heck is this movie really about?

this has to be one of those movies that are a lot deeper than what the story is.

help?

oh, btw, if people indeed do explain this to me, there may be spoilers... TIA

Darn, now you have me thinking again and that could be dangerous!

I saw it a few months ago... it's an odd movie alright. But ranks as one of the best I have seen. Why does Donnie have visions of the world coming to an end? Why is this rediculous looking HUGE rabbit making him commit terrible acts and crimes? I think I need to watch it again soon to refreash my memory and see what new perspective I get from it.

If you have not viewed this movie, I suggest you do... it's really fantastic.

Check out MEMENTO (top 5 favorites if mine) while you're at it, this is a thinker too!

I really liked Donnie Darko.. Is the Other Version worth it ? . .I wanna say they called it "Unrated" or something like that .. "Director's Cut" maybe .. is it worth it over the Regular?

so, i watch the whole thing, and get the general story line.... just wondering what's the deeper meaning behind it, or is it really, just the storyline?
