Simon is a Jerk!

I missed last year's American Idol. My sister told me to watch it last week. So I have seen a total of two shows.
There were a lot of really good singers and a lot of awful singers. But I am constantly amazed at Simon's totally rude comments. Sure, some of the really bad singers should be shown the door; but some of the singers who didn't compare to the quality of the other singers this week were really treated shabbily. Some people missed a note or two or forgot a word or two, but you could tell they were good singers. He should have just told them that they weren't going to be in the finals instead of rubbing their noses in it. I felt sorry for some of the singers who were humiliated in front of millions of viewers.
He tries to be cute with his snide comments, but they are already old; "You have got to be the worst performer I have EVER heard"... or, "That was PATHETIC!!"... Oh, that is so original!!
Actually, he is a pathetic human being.
Well, it is his show and I guess he can act any way he wants. But it just proves that crass behavior is just tolerated today without a wink.

Honestly, I think he is a smart man. I would bet that if you were to talk to him--or better yet, ask him to critique your singing off camera--he would be no where near as rude or tactless. He knew that in order to gain some sort of fame from this show, he would have to completely break down young, impressionable singers for the audience to see.

His plan has worked perfectly, and he is by far the highest profile person on the show, bar none. I mean, come on, I've never actually sat down to watch the show, and I know who Simon is. And let's face it, he is right about 95% of the time.

Yeah he is harsh. Still would rather hear what he or Randy Jackson say than the stuck on herself, thinly talented {and thats being kind} Paula Abdul.

I like last years season. They took more time to go through the good, the bad and the ugly. This season they seems to zip through each one of them and I think Simon had more cruel creative comments in the first one too.

Now he's just a broken records with Your The WORST and stuff comments.

yeah, simon's a jerk...but he's what makes the show so appealing.

Well what makes it appealing is Simon and some of the awful singers. Plus it's nice to see who "qualifies" as a potential singer according to what I think and what they think.

Either him or the Iglesias wanna be who tried singing that song...You can't escape my love. He really tried to hit a high note.

But yeah the Like A Virgin dude was horrible...then he started "dancing" seductively...I don't think Simon swings that way.

Simon rules. He makes the show. People watch because they want to see if he is going to really say all those rude things. Jerk=ratings. Otherwise American Idol is just like an interactive star search where the host always says good two shoe things.

THe first time I watched and Simon went off on someone I was in shock, then I started laughing. It was refreshing... kinda....but like South Park I couldn't believe what I was hearing or seeing.

And yes that Like a virgin guy was horrid.....
