Has Homer Simpson "jumped the shark?"
A great read on the Simpsons and what us going on with the sitcom icon.
http://slate.msn.com/id/2078501/ -jel ![]() Btw, "jumped the shark" refers to the Happy Days episode in which Fonzi came to CA and jumped a shark. The end of "happy days." |

all good things come to an end
A nice comprehensive read with various explainations for the Simpsons noticable decline.
Yes, the shark was jumped a few years ago. I'm surprised the show has gone on this long. Remember last year people thought the Simpsons was ending? Many long running shows go through this-they hit a high point and don't ever get back there. Might as well enjoy the Simpsons while it lasts, even though it doesn't reach its heyday years. |

This ahow is still funnier than 99% of the comedies on TV. I'd say it's better than 90% of anything else you can find.

One of the reasons why the show hasn't ended is there's still nothing else masses of people will watch over anything else Fox has. If they had continued Married with Children in some form or another I might check that out over most of Fox programming.
Who'd of thought that little short from the Tracy Ulman show would have this long a run. -jel ![]() |

I think that "24" is one of the best shows on TV and it's on Fox.
