Who should be MVP this year?
You know it's gonna be Kobe, but have fun with yourselves.

Geez, let's be a little more closed minded...
What about Jason Kidd, Chris Webber, Ben Wallace and Dirk Nowitzki? All equally qualified candidates. Even Shaq is a questionable mention. With the way Kobe has been playing lately, LA could probably make the playoffs without the big lug.

4-10 without Shaq. That rules out Kobe in my opinion.
I think it will be KG. He's leading a team that has NOTHING else and they're winning. He's averaging like 20 and 10 every night. While the others are great players, no other team has a derth of players quite like Minnesota. |

Jason Giambi & Randy Johnson. Those are my picks, although day 4 of spring training is a little early.

i think KG and T-Mac are leading contenders, although Kobe's recent play is definitely injecting him into the debate.

![]() I say Tim Duncan. He's getting it down without any major talent around him. Parker is inconsistant. Steve Smith can't move. Rose is too short to be effective. Ginobili is a rookie so his impact is limited. Robinson pretty much retired. No need to mention the rest. Best part of this, Tim doesn't have to score 30 points a game and still manages to win games. I love KG too. But he's getting a bit more help than Timmy is, in my opinion. Kobe has certainly has proved he can score. But can he lead? We'll have to see about that. I think it is unfair to put Kobe here since his team's record isn't very good. Kidd is doing a great job in NJ again. He's a contender too. Being an MVP requires you to be a great leader and a great talent. I don't think you can get it by just netting great numbers. Last edited by Jihforce : 02-19-2003 at 11:05 AM. |

Nope...see, eventually Steinbrenner will have both, so you have to pick another NL player...who then will be a Yankee...it's a devious cycle. Damn Yankees. |

Kobe all the way. He's been on fire. 53 points against The Rockets? If he keeps it up he has it.

Nothing like a West Coast bias (very funny looking to an Easterner). What about T-Mac or J-Kidd???
That said, I do believe that both those guys are as valuable to their teams as Kobe, Shaq or Dunc. |

Kidd is a good choice. Not TMac even tho i like his game. TMac's team is not really winning right now. |
