I think this is entirely stupid and a chauvanistic thing. First off, the LPGA Tour is for the best Women's golfers, while the PGA tour is for the best golfers, whether they be male, female, dog, martian, klingon, ghost, whatever. This is written in the mission statements of each tour.

This guy is a dumbass.

Can you please point where the Male PGA is? Oh yeah there isn't any, wonder why that is. The feminists out there would have a cow in addition to being ones. Moooo!

Why is okay for ladies to have their own things but not okay for men? Isn't that chauvinistic?

If there was a male only PGA there certainly would be a lot of crap to come out of it.

If you want to play by the rules that men play by then do it. Don't whine when you get to play and want every hole a few yards closer, the hoop a few inches lower, a bigger bowling ball, or whatever. If you want to compete on the same level then compete using the same standards in order to win. You want to win on merit and not a gimme.

C'mon let's be fair. When I walk into a bathroom I don't see a chair, sofa, lazy-boy, barcolounger, wet bar, cable tv, make-up artist, massagey-person in my men's bathroom.

PGA Tour rookie Chris Anderson, a friend of Kontak's, told the Golf Channel: "I think he wants the publicity. He's doing what a lot of guys talk about, but don't have the (guts) to do. He could look like a complete (fool), but what if he wins by 30?"

so basically, the dude sucks and so he's going to try to go where the competition is less intense.

it would be hilarious if he got in but then could make the cut

Let's just stick with sports. Why is there one basketball league where college players play with pro players? Why isn't there one huge baseball league? Because everyone isn't as skilled. As it turns out, collectively Women are not as skilled as Men in golf, mostly because they can't drive long distances like the Men do. Once women get more and more skilled, they should be allowed to play in the PGA. Until that time, the LPGA serves as a "minor league" that allows women to grow and utilize their skill. We should ENCOURAGE women to play in the PGA, provided they're good enough.

The men have a minor league of their own, the buy.com/nationwide/nike tour. This moron couldn't make it there, so don't say he didn't have a chance.

Well, the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, and the PGA are all male leagues. Is it bad to have some that are female only?

Man, we need some women in here to defend this point or something...I can't really argue this well. All I know is that the most ideal league would have men and women competing on the same level. Unfortunately, that's physically impossible right now.

Well, they are defacto male leagues, but not by rule. If there was a woman good enough to play in these leagues, there is no rule preventing it.

Actually Manon Rheaume played goalie in one NHL exhibition game but did not make the cut for the regular season. I think the NBA many years ago had a few women try out.

i'm going to argue this point. i would agree that women ARE becoming better golfers. however, i would argue that men are becoming better golfers as well. (they are both benefiting from tremendous product improvement which exaggerates their rate of improvement) for women to be as good of golfers as men, they will not only have to improve their skill, they will have to improve at a rate that is twice the current rate of improvement of the men to catch up. and i don't see that happening.

Ok...no rants on a sofa-less male bathroom. So yeah...play the game by the rules to the best of your abilities using all your skills.

Didn't George Michaels get arrested for trying to be a massagey-person? And don't forget we get a big white mint!

I don't think this is a matter of skill. The reason women don't do well in a PGA course is because they aren't as strong. Most women aren't stronger than men. That's a physical characteristic, its not skill based.

if it was simply a matter of strength, the women would just bulk up. that's not the only difference. in categories other than driving, men still have the advantage.

sand saves: the best female golfer would be only the 70th best male in this category.

green in regulation: annika sorenstam, the most accurate female golfer, would only be the 7th best male in this category.

putts: here women fare a little better. the best female putter would be the 3rd best male in this category.

I hope he plays and...................... he loses!

Serve him right. Obvious publicity stunt and a way to make a big check, but stunts like this can backfire. Either way I see a book deal and a movie starring Ben Stiller.
