Reebok Signs 3 yr Old To Shoe Deal

ESPN Radio has reported that Reebok has signed 3 year old Mark Walker Jr. to a one million dollar shoe contract. Apparently this child can shoot a basketball from behind his head from about 7-9 feet away and bank it in. Since they missed out on the LeBron lottery they felt the need to find someone to sell shoes, but a 3 year old? The bigger questions become, what if this kid gets good enough to play high school basketball but not good enough for the NBA. Taking this contract makes him ineligible for college baskeball.

So he won't be able to play on a cillege basketball team. He will have enough money to pay for his own college tuition though. This brings to mind another question. How many kids that get athletic scholorships to college would be accepted into their college if they didn't play sports, but had the money to pay tuition?

I am really getting sick of these Nike, Reebok, etc. contracts. I think that I am going to buy generic athletic gear in the future.

From what I remember, Reebok didn't sign the kid to a shoe deal but rather decided to use him as a promotional gimmick.

Here's the videos:

The kid has some mad form, there!

I admit he's good but if he doesn't have ups, quickness or handles... doesn't matter how well he shoots.

I've heard rumors from various reports that NBA scouts have already began looking in to elementary schools for the next prospects. A few months ago they had been keeping track of a few 5th graders.

I don't know if there are NBA scouts doing that, but I do remember seeing a website that tracked 5th and 6th grade prospects.

Kinda whacked IMO. Let them be kids.

The kids travels more than the Lakers! He needs to learn some rules before he'll make it in the NBA! Discipline, dad, discipline!

Wasn't there a Steve Kerr sighting a few days ago?

Seen this kid on a couple shows lately. He was on The Best Damn Sports Show Period a couple days ago and was on The Today Show this morning.

He's pretty damn good!
