great game.

while tim duncan obviously dominated the second half, i think a bigger story was the way that tony parker absolutely outplayed jason kidd. the spurs played great team defense, and i think it was an important psychological boost to hold on to the lead in the fourth quarter.

i think game 4 is going to be key. obviously, game 2 could go either way. game 3 will be a big boost for the nets and i imagine they'll win that regardless of what happens in game 2. however, i don't think the spurs will lose 3 straight in jersey. so game 4 will be pivotal, as the spurs will probably be trying to go up 3-1 or tie up the series.

I love both Duncan and Kidd.. I went to school with Kidd so how could I not root for him. Then again I have a PSA 10 rated Duncan rookie card. Oh wait I have an autographed Kidd rookie card as well! I win either way

JKidd should just post on Parker. In my opinion Kidd can take Parker on any day, Kidd just didn't bring his game. Duncan just had another great game. Barely any of the Nets stopped him.

actually, martin did a great job on duncan. he kept him out of the game in the first half and even in the second half, he forced him into a lot of incredibly tough shots -- duncan just made them.

i have to agree with nessler and walton when they were saying that martin should have played for more of the 4th quarter, even though he had 4 fouls. he was the only consistent offensive and defensive presence for nj.

as for kidd, i don't think he could really post up parker because parker (and the spurs' help defense) was denying him penetration. it's hard to post up when you can't get much beyond the arc.

The Nets don't have the kind of team like Dallas with some great shooters or LA with Kobe & Shaq to mount a comeback victory against the Spurs. I don't think anybody in the league right now could guard Tim Duncan one on one. Kenyon Martin played a great game against Duncan at least in the first half but Duncan just unstoppable in the second half. The Spurs actually have the speed to stop the Nets from goin' on the fast breaks even after a miss or a steal. Boston or Detroit didn't have that kind of speed or defense thus they were swept.

if the Nets played how they played yesterday than they really have a big chance of being the Champs.

The Spurs just played a really bad game (over 20 turnovers) and cold shooting and the Nets barely beat them by 2 points. I don't think the Nets is going to have a chance in game 3 since Duncan is going to bounce back and play his game.

Well the Spurs just really didn't bring it thats all. But if Kidd and the rest of the Nets play really well than they might have a chance.

Yet the Spurs played another bad game but the Nets played bad also and lost! Duncan wasn't up to his top game in the last 2 games but Tony Parker was huge.
