Ruben has a Song on the Radio

On American Idol, I felt right from the start that Ruben would be the winner.
Well, I heard a re-make of a Luther Vandross song by him yesterday on the radio. Yecchhhh!!

He took that song and added those crazy inflections where they go up and down and repeated words at the end of a verse.

Why do certain black singers overdo this method when they sing? A little bit at the end of a song isn't too bad, but doing this throughout the song really is annoying.

Even Simon commented on this to Ruben a few times. If he keeps this up, his career will be short lived.

I honestly didn't mind the song (Flying Without Wings)... but I'll admit I've never heard the original Luther Vandross song, so I can't really make a comparison.
