Michael Vick Out...

This sucks, time to pull him off of Fantasy roster.

From ESPN.com

"Reeves: Surgery unlikely for Falcons star Vick

ATLANTA -- Atlanta Falcons star Michael Vick fractured his right fibula Saturday night during an exhibition game against Baltimore.

Vick is likely to be out at least six weeks with his fractured fibula, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports according to his sources. He will be re-evaluated on Sunday, but caoch Dan Reeves believes surgery won't be necessary.

"He's got a broken bone in his leg," Reeves said. "The are saying he could be out six weeks but they don't think he will have surgery. We will have to see. "

If Vick's out six weeks, he'll miss the first four games of the regular season, and would return Oct. 5 against Minnesota.

"I'm totally disappointed. But this is the ultimate team sport and we will have to keep playing. I have confidence that these guys and coaches can get it done," Vick said.

Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb had a similar injury last year and was out two months.

Vick was chased out of the pocket on a third-down play late in the first quarter and was tackled by Adalius Thomas. Vick fell awkwardly on his right leg and grabbed it even before he hit the ground.

Thomas, after briefly celebrating the tackle, went back to check on Vick and several of Vick's teammates knelt beside him. When it was apparent he was hurt, a hush came over the crowd at the Georgia Dome.

After he was examined by the Falcons' medical staff, Vick got up with some help and limped a few steps to a cart. The crowd gave him a standing ovation as he was driven to the locker room.

"Obviously, Mike is an exceptional talent and we hate to lose him," Falcons defensive end Patrick Kearney said. "There are a lot of people out there who say he is our whole team. Now we have to go out there and prove those people wrong. We wish him the best on a fast recovery and hope he comes back as fast as possible."

Vick got off to a rough start against the Ravens, getting sacked on the first play and throwing an interception on the next one. He finished 0-for-4, and rushed for 8 yards.

Last season, he made the Pro Bowl in his first full season as a starter and set three NFL records for rushing by a quarterback."

Dang, that's really tough Ya hate to see a Hokie go out like that while he's rising so fast, but something tells me he'll heal up faster than expected

He gets hurt every year even in college. His first season starting at Virginia Tech, he hurt himself flipping into the endzone in a meaningless game. The following year, he hurt himself against Pittsburgh in a game I think VT won easily. He's amazing but he needs to learn to not take some risks especially when he's going to get beat up later on when games do count.

I am so glad I drafted him yesterday afternoon as my quarterback. That was just super.

Looks like the Madden Curse strikes again.

I'm just happy my fantasy team hasn't drafted yet.

Atlanta season is over if Vick is out for a long time. Four games are not that bad but I wonder how is he going to be when he comes back.

That sucks!

One of the reasons I got the NFL Sunday ticket was to watch Vick. He is an amazing player - probably between him and Marshall Faulk, some of the more interesting players to watch.

Heh, I don't think Faulk will last the whole season either.

I shall overcome though. The hell with Vick. I can still pick up Patrick Ramsey who should survive for about 3 games if his line does not improve. Oh well, at least I did not spend money on the fantasy team.

Atlanta will still need a QB.

I actually already have picked him up. No need to tempt fate with Ramsey.

I just read about the madden curse. A new strategy for fantasy football, avoid the cover athlete on madden games.

Ramsey is in trouble if the o-line does not start playing better. Spurrier needs to learn that the ol' fun -n- gun does not work as well when you dont have significantly more talent than other teams.

If you are talking about Faulk with a broken hand, you are right.
