Wood for Guitar
Just curious about something
I've been playing guitar for some time but I never really know anything about the type of wood that is used to construct it. What's the best sounding type of wood for the guitars? And what type of sounds are produced by the different wood used? me and my roommate had a little debate but we didnt know anything so it got nowhere

here you go...
the most common is mahogany. koa makes the sound really...bright and crisp. personally, i like rosewood for its strong bass...gives the sound that extra umph, to me at least. |

there's not a single best sounding wood for guitars. just like there's not a best sounding pickup, a best action height, a best fret type, etc. it all depends on your personal preference...like what sound you're going for and stuff like that.
personally i have nothing against a good mahogany body with maple top, with 2 seymour (butts) duncan humbuckers on a double cutaway ![]() for classical i'm down with mahogany back and sides with a spruce solid top.
