Do you like scary movies Sydney.....?

I was reading another thread and it gave me this idea.

What is the all time scariest movies you ahve ever seen??

for me its hands down The Ring.... that movie scared that crap outta me the first time I saw it. IT had both the flash bang scarey stuff in the movie i.e. quick scares
and it also had the after effects that were scarey especially since I ahve a T>V> in my bedroom and I keep looking at it that night wiating for some dead little girl waiting to crawl out of it and tear my face off. eeeekkkkkk!!

After checking out the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I'd say that movie made me jump in surprise the most... really really disturbing.

The video shown in The Ring was one of the eeriest parts IMO

The scariest movie EVER?

Bambi...they freaking kill off deer!

I did see a movie called "May" this weekend. It wasn't scary, per se, but it was just sick. I don't know if it's very good or just plain bad. It got decent reviews, but I'm still undecided as to how i should categorize it.

Gotta admit I'm not much of a scary movie buff. The original Chainsaw Massacre was scary, tho. Alien was good, too.

many people disagree with me, but i have to say one of the scariest movies i've seen was the Blair Witch Project. i don't consider cheap scares (like loud noises or sudden on-screen appearances of things/people) to be really "scary", just startling. you get over it pretty quickly until the next crescendo of music and dark corner turned.

scary is when the idea refuses to leave you, and you mull it over, and when you think about it, it just makes you feel uneasy and tense. BWP did that to me. i practically have a mental dissertation on scary movies stored up, but i won't go into it here, because it will bore people and no one will read it.

i also didn't enjoy that scene in the director's cut of the Exorcist when what's-her-name was walking down the staircase upside down and backwards. yeesh..

As one of the biggest horror movie fans around, I've never really had a movie "scare" me - probably because I'm a seasoned veteran. Heck, I saw The Shining and the Freddy and Jason movies when I was 7 years old.

The one movie that did disturb me the most when I first saw it was Event Horizon. Not really sure why, but it just creeped me out.

I laugh when people say that Blair Witch and The Ring are the scariest movies that they have seen. 28 Days Later was not the least bit scary for me. I have no idea why they advertise it as being "Scary as hell" and "the scariest movie since the Exorcist".

Same here. "Scary" Movies don't scare me but Event Horizon just freaked me out. I have to attribute it to the guy with no eyes. I found the Blair Witch Project to be utterly boring. Movies can't just be artistic, they have to be entertaining; BWP wasn't. The Ring was just a cool movie to me, plus man what a MILF. The horse jumping into the water was hilarious too. 28 Days Later I thought was awesome as well. Not scary at all but very cool.

congo! that crappiness of that movie scares me to no end.

agreed with Freelance Superhero. if you have to think about it's validity, then it's kinda freaky.

i prefer suspense movies more.

I'm a real big fan of scary movies, and I think The Ring held its own very well - I'd put it on my top ten list. Event Horizon was definitely a good one as well. Amityville scared the bejeezus out of me when I first saw it, but I was like 12 at the time. The House on Haunted Hill was another one that creeped me out.

Most disturbing movie? Eraserhead... without a doubt.

I dont know what the scariest is... Maybe Dawn of the Dead. They just kept coming. Poltergeist was good in that people died for real during the making.
Freaky stuff went down on Exorcist too.
I like House and Army of Darkness and Fright Night (II). Those were creepy/ funny. They had people/ evil things getting smacked around, beat, sliced & killd and that my friend makes for a good horror movie experience.
