so anyone here get into the poker thing lately? I've been playing semi-regularly with buddies....

as for the virtual world....I know with the Moneymaker winning the world series of poker, there's been a huge influx of people signing up for poker online. My buddy's been doing it, and I'm thinking about signing up.

anyone here a member of any of the online sites? if so, which sites?

I currently play over at wsex. Great site great customer service. Online poker is great, especially when people start dumping money to you lol. The other night, guy has to be drunk, raises at a 25/50cent NL game to 30$ preflop with A3, I raise back to 80$ with pocket queens. Guy calls, lit his ass up

Online poker is fun because it is easier to toss the money around and a lot of people don't know how to play and donate their money to you

How do you guys like pokerroom? I have been interested in trying some new sites recently.

I'm also on PokerRoom . . . it's fun, though I haven't played for a while. I tend to just play the free games, but every once in a while, they'll toss $10 at me to play real games with . . . have come out with a bit of free money that way.

and i know that both of those sites actually use the same everything.... (people from partypoker can play with people on empirepoker), is there any sort of thing with pokerroom for you guys?

what do you guys play, I am stickly holdem NL. Do you guys do it for fun or do you guys do it for the money? Im making out nice in the money end of it.

Edit. Just realized you guys said pokerroom and not one of the others ones. I started out on pokerroom to learn how to play with the play money in the tounraments. Do they have NL tables yet? I never really liked the site though, watched a friend get lit up real fast for 100$ in under an hour in a limit table.

Do you guys also go NL or Limit? I meant to say earlier that I am goign to try out pokerstars I think it was.

I've usually been playing the tourney style NL hold-em. The problem is with all these newbies coming in....they've been going all in on the first hand before the flop. pisses me off. if anyone goes against them...they immediately double up and have a chip advantage over everyone else.


so I've been playing a lot of 7 card stud lately. more structured betting. but can still risk enough to win a big hand.

my friends play on partypoker. they like it. i think most online poker places are the same.

i play some weekends with friends. i'll be playing with 16-21 people on saturday in a $50 buy in tournament. hope i win, or get close

attgig, you play with real money or fake money? I am assuming fake money. That is how it is though mostly with fake money.

Djradam, good luck with that, 50$ buyin for 16ppl is a nice pot. I stopped playing with people in local games cause in a good night you win 20$ maybe with a 20$ buying. It has become more of just hanging out, but if I want to gamble i can make a couple hundred online.

yeah, usually we play with only $5 .... but they have it where first and second get a good chunk, and 3-5 get money back. not bad though!

Djradam: My friends also do a 5$ tournament every sunday, it is fun to do it to hang out, but to me the 2-4hrs to win 30$ isn't worth it for me anymore, but a 50$ buyin....

It is interesting, I used to be all about the tournaments and the freerolls on sites(wsex has two, one is a 1$ 10person one table winner takes 50$ tournament, and the other is a 500$ freeroll free to get in, top 18-30 get money) I used to be all over them especially the 500$ freerolls, but realized its not worth the time unless you are top 3. Cause they last forever online, and if you take like 11th you get 6-11$ for 4hrs.

Oh well, it is intersting to see the change in poker though, it is becoming a huge game accross the states, and more and more people playing it. I think the online gambling/poker has helped also, easier then going to a casino.
