Looks like the end for Howard Stern

Legislation has been introduced in Congress to increase by 10-fold the $27,500 maximum fine that the FCC can levy for indecency. The Bush administration has endorsed the bill raising the fine to $275,000. The agency itself has said it may start issuing the fine per incident rather than per program, and is talking about revoking licenses.

I don't know if this is the correct thread to say this but I don't know what all the fuss is about. I mean am I a little offended by Janet Jackson flashing her boobie, not as much as I was by the fact that I had to watch Justin Timberlake dancing... now, that was offensive.

Or the recorded Timberlake voice. Ouch. My inner musician found that offensive.

If I am actually remember correctly from what I read ealier today and yesterday. The fine is not 27grand, it is 27grand per station affiliate it was on, or somethign like that. The report was saying the fine could be in the millions. Since it wasn't just on the houston cbs channel.

275grand per station is a little too much. Something is shown on national television and next thing you know if they fine per station it was on. It could be in the 100mill range. To me it wasn't a big deal, it was an accident, the red lace got ripped off to, you could see it in justins hand. BUT if you go anywhere else in the world, it was shown over and over and over. My girlfriend in spain saw it uncensored on TV over 10 times monday. They need to loosen up the standards a little.

What kind of puritan country is this when people get freaked out over one damn breast? OMG NO!!!! NOW MY KIDS WILL LIKE BREASTS!!!! We need to get over whatever psuedo-morality trip we are on. If my son saw that breast and was like, "what was that?" I'd say, "that was a breast and hopefully when you become a grown up you'll see a lot more of them." And that would be the end of the issue.

true.

i think news should be censored too then. i'd rather have my kids growing up seeing breasts than watching the news and hearing of all the people raped/killed/etc that day.
