i have to agree with speedracer here. rick dees is just as bad as ryan seacrest or steve harvey. i dislike all of them equally.

What's happening is every clearchannel station in the Los Angeles area is moving into one building. I am sure there is some internal politics going on there. I haven't heard, however, that Dees was leaving. Whatever, I don't really listen to the radio all that much.

according to Kevin & Bean (and Ralph) on KROQ, they say he won't take a paycut, even though his ratings have suffered. So he's more or less being fired.

when they make fun of Rick Dees, its one of the funniest things ever.

Kevin & Bean have been making fun of Rick Dees for years. He has consistently ripped off stuff from other DJs and morning shows (and pass it off as his own creativity) to try and get ratings. Why do you think KIIS FM was always giving away all that money? Because people hate Rick Dees and won't listen to them so they had to literally buy their listeners!

I love his line this morning: "Get ready for the darkness". That fool really needs to get over himself. I hope in 6 months he's sitting in his house in Tennessee in a dark room listening to "Disco Duck" over and over trying to remember what his glory days were like...

if you like that crap for music, listen to Star. (98.7)

We listen to KROQ 106.7, however If I had my say we would listen to CD's and Talk radio 90% of the time

I hate broadcasting conglomerates, it ruins the whole idea of free press. It becomes corporate press.

Is Howard Stern on then? I like listening to his show for the news, but the rest of his show most of the time is boring IMO.

here in LA, theres a radio FM station purely devoted to talk radio that Howard Stern is on in the mornings.

oh, and whats up with SD radio? all stations but one (I think) are part of the clear channel corp. and theres not that much radio stations to begin with (unless you like listening to mariachi music).

For our drive to work (~2 minutes) we listen to Kevin & bean on KROQ. I don't like Howard Stern. I don't like listening to b00bies. I want to see the b00bies.

for longer drives though we bring our cd's

There are quite a few Clear Channel stations. They own over 1200 of them. If you really want to see a list of CC stations, use thie radio search engine: http://www.clearchannel.com/rad_search.php

Actually, Infinity Broadcasting and RadioOne have quite a few stations in SD.

I can handle Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and the HGTV, but when I want music, I don't need some fruity idiot droning on about themselves. Just my music and some funny commentary will surfice.

Rick Dees is no metrosexual. Ryan Seacrest he's stretching the definition, because he's just in denial and the whole world knows it.

I remember Kevin & Bean had him followed at 6 in the morning. Rick Dee's was supposedly live broadcasting except he was driving from home to work. Basically all the early stuff was prerecorded. KROQ was threatened with a lawsuite and K&B stopped talking about it.

Still, dude had a nice run. Must be like 20 years now.

Get this for your car.

Sirius satellite is a Godsend for any commuter who drives more than 20 minutes a day.
Plus, you can get the unit, car dock, home dock, and free internet streaming for about 130 for equipment and 12/month. Try it and you will NOT be disappointed.

Hahaha.

What's about with 103.1 always changing formats? It's freaking annoying. Just when you start liking their "new" format, they change it again.
