This is no different that the co-stars of Everybody Loves Raymond walking off set because Ray Romano got a huge raise, but nobody else did. This is no different than the entire cast of Friends refusing to do another season until each of them was paid $1M per episode. This is no different than the cast of Frasier refusing to do another season until they got a raise as well.

Such is the cost of producing a hit tv series. Just because these people are only voice actors doesn't mean they're less or more greedy than other actors. This actually doesn't surprise me one bit. Fox and Groehning are reaping the profits from home video sales now and the actors are only receiving $125K/episode. Quite honestly, before I read that article, I assumed that the actors were earning well more than $125K due to the longevity and success of the series. I guess I was wrong.

Gotta love showbiz!

These people are behind the biggest tv show in history. Give them the money. They are worth more than Ray Romano, who is an unfunny idiot and look how much he makes.

Actually, many of the people involved are getting paid participations and royalties for sales of the shows to foreign territories and other broadcasters. On top of that, those involved will also receive royalties on home video sales. Although I am prohibited to give you actual figures for specific shows, I can tell you that many of these people are not getting screwed by any means. Furthermore, it isn't until the 3rd or 4th season of a series that ANY producer starts seeing a profit. This includes Fox, Universal, NBC, etc.

As much as some of you want to blame corporate america for being greedy, in the first several years of a television series, they are lucky if they're breaking even.

I don't blame Fox, its their right to try to pay their employees as little as possible, but its their employees right to try to get the salary they think they deserve. And given how much money the Simpsons has made for the past 15 years, I'd say they are justified in wanting more.

I certainly don't disagree that people involved with Simpsons deserve more, because Simpsons is a proven television show that is still popular.

However, I disagree with the statements that the producers and corporations are being greedy, because it's shows like the Simpsons that help carry the newer shows until they turn profitable.

LOL

His is a different kind of humour, but your right he damn sure shouldn't be the highest paid person in sitcom. NBC was pathetic to pay the cast of friends a mil and episode IMO.

Whats sad is that the cast of seinfeld only made real money in the last season. That is everyone except Jerry.

That cast deserved more...But Jerry got all the credit because he was co-writer and towards the end, co-producer as well.

dude, i'm not trying to turn this into some kind of "corporations are evil" argument or anything. while i may not be the biggest corporate cheerleader around here, i don't think i regularly try to blame the world's problems on corporations, unless corporations are actually responsible for these problems.

read my quote in context. the title of the thread said "greedy bastards are trying to kill the simpsons." gear02 added "those 'greedy bastards' are the voices of the simpsons."

after reading the article, to me it seems clear that the voice actors are not being greedy here. they're just trying to get a reasonable rate for their great contributions to this show. coupled with the fact that it appears that Fox has tried to lowball them in the past, i drew the conclusion that Fox, which is obviously reaping massive profits from the show, is the one being greedy by refusing to ante up for their voice talent.

no class warfare here. no irrational blaming of corporations. just an opinion based on the facts at hand. if you disagree with that opinion, fine. but let's not draw broad conclusions from fairly focused statements.

I think you have to be over 40 or extremeley dull to enjoy watching "Everybody Loves Raymond." For example, my 50 year old parents, and my 21 year old roommate and her boyfriend
