Whos getting the greatest trilogy of all?

As you know, Star Wars boxed set is coming out on DVD.
Pre order is like $41 so expect it to be on sale for around $35 at frys and bb the 1st week.

I'm definitely getting and watching the set when it hits the shelves.

Not yet until HD-DVD becomes the standard.

How can I take you seriously when you're not even talking about The Leprechaun. Leprechaun 3: Fool's Gold got history's biggest snub when it didn't get that Best Picture Oscar.

One of my Italian friends had the same sentiment (A few gangbangers I know did too actually).
I dont figure you for a ganster. According to the boards you do make a great pasta...
Godfather was a great series but it didnt make too many of us want to become mobsters except maybe Ip. SW on the other hand, had it all. Every kid from 5 - 50 wanted to be a Jedi or Princess or Han Solo or a Wookie or some blend of all of the above. Ask that fat kid in the home video.

I stand by statement. Star Wars is the greatest trilogy of all time!

This probably belongs in RoniMan's never-dying Simpsons quote thread, but:

"Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well I didn't hear anybody laughing, did you?"

Released today.

I'm going to pick up the set but when I can find them on sale. Probably previously viewed at Blockbuster or something. That is unless Apex comes through for us with a descent deal on them somewhere.

And the Godfather movies were good but the third one was not so good.

As for good trilogys...forget Lord of the Rings...I'm going with the "if you thought the joke was funny once I'll tell you the same one again and again" Austin Powers movies.

LOL a gangster..now THAT is funny.
And you didn't live in my neighborhood which was COMPLETELY ITALIAN and Sicilian - if you did you'd understand..
As far as becoming mobsters-it has nothing to do with it..it has to do with getting your whole family together-watching the movie and criticizing the way they speak italian (which is VERY HOLLYWOOD btw), trying to see the cotton in Brando's mouth, pointing out the OBVIOUS errors, and so on...and then sitting on your front porch watching all the "big shots" in the neighborhood who all liked people to think they had mob connections get yelled at by their old italian mothers for not taking the garbage out..lol

the third one was the best as far as actually using any kind of "real life" comparisons..such as the vatican bank scandal which really happened..the worst part of that movie was Sophia Coppalla and why she was in love with her cousin and what a freakin terrible actress she was.

Karate Kid, Back To The Future, and Indiana Jones were awesome. I misread the title to say "What's the greatest trilogy of all?" and was disappointed to see it's a Star Wars thread. The originals were good, but the prequels killed it. It was painful to watch. There was the mediocre child actor and most annoying alien character ever, followed by Justin Timberlake frolicking through the fields and the return of the most annoying alien character ever... terrible.

you cant change the original film to todays higher definition footage. Due to this, i dont think you will see much of a difference on HDDVD. I could be wrong though.

So far we have:
3 uber geeks
4 fan boys
6 cheap bastirds
3 amateur critics with too much time on their hands
and...
3 people who are out of their freakin minds

Yeah, that's about the make of G|A.

Actually... I saw The Land Before Time 9 while I was in Korea (I was babysitting kids). The best part about it? It was in Korean. Mind you that these kids spoke English better than Korean too, but I think we were all pretty annoyed by the end of it.

I just checked, and there is now a tenth one. When I'm married and have kids, I may not show them a single one of these, lest I'm forced to watch them over and over until I contemplate suicide.
