Queer Eye for the Straight Gal?

Bravo to Air 'Queer Eye' Show for Women
Thursday April 8 12:14 PM ET

Fashion-challenged women will get their due when a companion to "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" arrives on Bravo.

Set to debut next year, the distaff spin-off of Bravo's smash series will be set in Los Angeles, where a team of gay stylists will be dispatched to help their female charges look, feel and live better.

Just how closely the 13-episode series will mirror the show that inspired it is yet to be determined, but the basic makeover in such problems areas as food and wine, grooming, fashion, interior design and culture will likely be similar.

Clearly Bravo's hopes are high that "Queer Eye for the Straight Gal" will score with viewers in the same way as the original. An unexpected hit when it premiered on the cable network last summer, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" has won big ratings on Bravo as well as for broadcast sibling NBC, which aired it on a few occasions.

Meanwhile, the "fab five" from the original show have become stars in their own right. Among other ventures, their jointly authored book is on the best-seller list.

Besides, you see a lot more "butch"ish lesbians than you do gay males, no matter what The L Word would have you believe. heh

this doesn't make any sense. what are they going to do? bring over the hair clippers and overalls? real lesbians aren't typically really fashion conscious.

I liked when SNL thought of this first. They had a lesbian contractor (Amy Poehler) who was fixing the house of a straight girl (Tina Fey). The recommendation was to pull out the carpet and expose the wood paneling underneath, and Tina made a comment about, "RIght, cause I'm sure you guys know all about tearing up carpet..." Truly hilarious.

I see a lot of butchy heterosexuals nowadays, too.

BTW, why do most homosexual guys talk with a lisp and use their limp wrists at the same time? I could never figure that out.

isn't the idea to have gay guys make over straight women, not having lesbians make over straight women?

that was my impression, and it makes sense because it seems like the "fab five" is often talking about how the women in various homes they "make over" are as bad as the men.

for that matter, they could have queer eye for the queer gal....that wouldn't hurt either
