how are my red wings getting waxed by the predators?
i'm watching this freakin' game and i don't normally get upset. but the refs are doing a TERRIBLE job. and bill clemente and the other guy are just pissing all over detroit. there have been MANY questionable calls against detroit and they don't say anything. a nashville player comes down and takes out cujo and they go on and on about how bad a call it was. losers.

Yeah NHL officiating seems really subjective. At times the calls are very questionable. I wouldn't really worry; your Wings are nearly unbeatable at home. (I'm sure you already knew that though.) Nashville laces up a lot of fast skaters, I think that's the only area in which they have an advantage. I still like Detroit's chances to win the series. Hopefully the Sharks can win out in 5 and it takes everybody else 7 though

the wings are getting waxed for a variety of reasons, but the biggest reason is goaltending. volkoun is just REALLY good. he is stopping everything (although to be fair many of detroit's shots have been weak shots from the perimeter with no screen, making them fairly easy stops). detroit just needs to take the puck in front of the goal and just try to pound it in.
hopefully, they'll get a little more agressive playing at home on thursday. |

After watching the flames game as well as watching highlights on NHL2Night, I just remembered why I love playoff hockey. It's not JUST about skills and stars, it's about effort and heart. Why did the preds win? They worked harder than the wings.
Gosh, how I love playoff hockey! Did you see what the Canadiens were trying to pull? First the "injury" last game that stopped a Bruins rush, then Kovalev trying to draw a penalty on a weak slash to the wrist. He held his wrist in pain (whether that was genuine or not) and bumped into his own player, then a Bruin took the puck and scored. That was sad. Even if his wrist is broken (which I doubt), he still had to clear the puck. That was a Kings Vlade-style flop. ![]() And GO FLAMES! Last edited by gear02 : 04-13-2004 at 10:22 PM. |

Wings looked fine Thursday, really taking it to the Preds at home. Now it's just a matter if they'll be able to finish the job on the road or have to take care of business again at home in game 7. Personally, I hope every remaining quarterfinal series goes to 7 games, because it'll mean my Sharks' next opponents will be less rested up.

they really need to win game 6 in nashville, just to get over the hump of winning a road game in the playoffs. even though the could *theoretically* win a cup by only winning home games, we all know that's not going to happen.

It'll be tough. Vokoun's been rock solid in Nashville but Swiss Cheese in the Motor City. This last game (5) may have been enough to shake him a bit though, so we'll see if they can solve him in Tennessee for game 6.
