Minute Maid Park
Ok, does anyone else absolutely hate the hill and flagpole in center field? Being a Cubs fan, I watched the game last night and have been listening to the game tonight, and it just seems like a recipie for getting players hurt.
I watched Biggio last night drop a fly out there, and sounds like Goodwin almost got hurt on it. Seems like they should level that out and find another place to put the flag. |

From the Houston Astros website:
Playing Field: Three wall heights, various angles in the corners and power alleys, a 30-degree, uphill slope - "Tal's Hill" - for a center field warning track, and a flag pole in the field of play create unique actions for any ball that gets past an outfielder. |

wow...you guys didn't know?
There's a corner at the very middle of the outfield wall. At that corner is a hill with the flag pole on it. Both are in play and many a CF have tumbled going up the hill, including Biggio, who did a face plant. While it may cause an injury, it's very unique and rarely does a ball get that far. |

Here's an image of it:
http://www.digitalballparks.com/Astros_640_10.html I think the Polo Grounds also had a flagpole in center field. |
