Bremer, Fizer, Kapono, Wallace, and White were pretty decent picks. That lineup might lead you to a 5-77 record.

They cant receive the top pick in next years draft due to an agreement. They better hope the depth is there next year.

they're taking an interesting approach to franchise building.
seriously, i think fizer is a good player who could use a change of venue. might put up some good numbers. i'm not familiar enough with any of those other guys to really comment. supposedly they're only planning to keep a few of those guys around by the time the season opens, but what teams are going to want them? |

I think part of the deal with being a new franchise is that they can waive any of those guys, and it'll have no impact on their salary cap. It's been a while since I read the expansion scenario.
And I'm thinking their pick of Fizer was with the intention of keeping him. I agree that he could still be a decent player in the right situation. Charlotte's GM said their goal was to get cheap, young players and try to develop them. They did the best they could with what was left unprotected. |

wallace can jump but he has small hands which can hinder his ball handling skills.

Anyone who was due to be a restricted free agent could be selected and then that player becomes a regular free agent. The Bobcat's only took so many of those since there was a minimum number to take. Teams could also offer them things ($$$, draft picks) to take players off their hands (and salary cap). The Drobnjak pick was part of the deal with the Clippers to get the #2 pick. I'm sure that only 5-7 of the players selected will be Bobcats. EDIT: Charlotte also has less than the full salary cap to use this year, I believe it's only 50% or 66% of the full cap. |
