DragonballZ Movie?

Ben Ramsey Adapting Dragonball Z for Fox
Source: Variety Friday, June 25, 2004

Screenwriter Ben Ramsey ("The Big Hit") has signed to adapt Dragonball Z for the big screen for 20th Century Fox, reports Variety. Dragonball Z was adapted from the "Dragonball" manga created by Akira Toriyama and later developed into a Japanese anime series.

"Dragonball Z" follows the adventures of an adult humanoid alien who's just discovered that he was sent to Earth to blend in and destroy our population but instead elects to protect it from an oncoming alien onslaught.

Ramsey recently wrote the adaptation of Marvel's Luke Cage at Sony's Columbia Pictures, as well as Static for Columbia-based producer Neal Moritz.

It doesn't say that it's live action. Thankfully.

Live action would be terrible, like Power Rangers without the helmets and "zords". For one thing, the characters look very... uh... anime (read: unrealistic), so the actors would have to wear ridiculous wigs. Plus the whole DBZ gimmick is that their fights are in fast-forward mode, which would look weird live action... and any energy blasts would look strange/unrealistic.

Pretty much Akira Toryama has already made like 10 Dragonball movies... all animated.

I surely doubt that they are gonna make an animated movie about this... maybe a bunch of CGI... but I got a bad feeling that there is gonna be some REALLY BAD acting going on if they make this.

I used to love Spawn, He-Man, the Flintstones, and a host of other "comic/cartoons" made into movies that absolutely SUCKED!!!
