Very excited. I'm hoping that Venom and/or Carnage shows up in one of these movies!

i wasn't excited until I saw some of the previews, then I was hyped...

then I went to see spiderman 1 for the first time

the only thing that irks me is how Parker's friend hates Spiderman, but that's the point of the movie...

DFJ sure is excited about this.... it's all he has talked about for the past 6 months (pretty much he's a big "Spidey fan").

His room is filled with all kinds of Spiderman stuff... bedspread, sheets, toys, underwear, PJs, poster... etc...

I'm looking forward to it. His friend eventually becomes hobgoblin anyways right? My comic book lore is rusty or just outdated. I would like to see Venom in the next movie but I'm not so sure about Carnage. Maybe the Black Cat can make an appearance like Catwoman in the Batman movies b/c that can rattle the whole Peter Park and Mary Jane story line. I like the focus on the character development and I hope it continues.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, mostly for the effects. I'm not that big a fan of the acting, but the writing was true to the comic books. I too, wish Venom and/or Carnage would be in this installment. Oh well.

Are they sort of trying to stay with the same timeline? What issue did Venom turn up in? I thought it was one of the later issues (right after the Secret Wars, right?). (Man, I feel like a dork )

So, who does everyone think is the next villan? My guess is the Lizard. Some of them I just don't think they can do so they look good. I have a bad feeling that Rhino would look about as cheesy as the Green Goblin did.

Looks like an ok movie. Although i kinda wished they had canned mcguire like they were planning on. They called Kristen' Dunst boyfriend and then Tobey got scared and said, i'll do it. So they call him back and were like oops sorry dude. Thats gotta suck for him and her...
My guess is we will get a little tease of whats not coming next time.. Kinda like how in x-men 2, you see files on Gambit and some of the more interesting xmen, and all you end up with is a kid who can change tv channels with his mind...

Rumor is Jean Grey returns as Phoenix, we see more of Iceman and Pyro. Beast is going to make an appearance...and I think Colossus will have a more prominent role as well. As far as any others...I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Didn't he have the suit in Secret Wars II? Hmm...I forget the origin but wasn't the Beyonder involved? I got the comics where Carnange showed up for the first time but he wasn't nearly as cool as Venom. I got a 12" PVC Venom doll somewhere at home...it scared my gf when she saw it when we dated early on so I had to put it away.

if Hollywood does try to incorporate Venom into the movies, they're gonna have a hard time trying to explain the Secret Wars to the mainstream audience. But the part where the rival journalist becomes Venom, and seeks out revenge on Peter Parker AND Spiderman (and not knowing that they are one and the same), now THATS classic comic book lore and that would make an awesome movie plot line.

Don't remember all of it exactly, butthis seems to start to explain it:
http://www.vgmfusion.com/senshuk/hom...spiderbio.html

Ok, so here's a movie that won't get made:
The Secret Wars

Perfect! Could have Spiderman, Hulk, the X-men and Daredevel( if he was in them). They could also use it as a guest appearance for other characters, such as The Fantasic Four. Now that would be REALLY cool

But would it be the same Kingpin from DD? There are very few [physically] large big-time actors. I guess they could get some unknown actor as an alternative.

Venom would be great on the big screen. While they'd have to dumb it down [make the complex storyline less complex], I think it would work. It was easy to follow in the Fox cartoons... I assume that version was dumbed down from the comic originals and it was okay.

No doubt it's gonna be Jean Grey as Phoenix...you could see the Phoenix shadow at the end of the last one. That should be pretty exciting. I just want it to get to the part where Colossus betrays them all (I hope I didn't just give away anything). That was right around the point I stopped reading comics, but it was a good story.

I just saw it last night. I wouldn't say it's better than the first, but that's because I loved the first. I would say it's right on par with the first though, definitly no worse.

They threw in a bit of comedy and had the audience laughing quite a bit.

Expect a lot more action. There's a couple fight seens with Doc Oc that's just incredible. (Especially the scene on the elevated rail.)

If you liked the first, definitly go see this.

Oh, final note: I never read the comics, so I'm not a purist. I have no clue if this was true to the story. Keep that in mind.

Where are you? I'll catch it with you if you can't find anyone else.

Oh and not to ruin if for you youngsters, but Stan Lee is umm well
"Stan Lee, Chairman of Marvel Comics and Marvel Films, is known to millions as the man whose superheroes propelled Marvel to its preeminent position in the comicbook industry. Hundreds of legendary characters such as Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, The X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Daredevil, The Avengers, Thor and Dr. Strange all grew out of his fertile imagination."
Basically he created a ton of big marvel characters and is the reason marvel exists today.
