When you work out, do you have specific equipment for each sport?

I was sitting in the living room after running last night and my wife started laughing at me. she said i have little outfits for everything i do.

after thinking about it she's right. i have biking shorts, jerseys, and socks. running shorts, shirts, and shoes. hiking.... snowboarding...

plus i had a heart rate monitor on and my walkman. if i spent half as much time biking as i do thinking/reading/buying bike stuff i'd be in tremendous shape.

I just bought a new board and new wetsuit the other day. Set me back $650. Really useful in atlanta right? hehe. I may only get to skim a dozen or so days out of the year now, but I like to have the best stuff when I do.

I have gear for everything I do. I have hiking gear, cycling gear, clothing/cleats & discs for ultimate frisbee, fishing gear, XC and alpine ski gear, paintball gear and Judo gear. I even have bags/packs for them too - it makes it easier to to keep it all together and throw it in the trunk quickly.

Yes... if you are gonna do it right, you need your own equipment.

Otherwise, you are just "dabbling" and not really "into" your sport.

It costs about $2500 to get into alpine ski racing
$1000 skis
$600 pants + jacket that will keep you warm while doing 6 hours of gates each day
$300 speedsuit
$300 boots
$100 poles
$100 helmet

But there's nothing like going 45 mph with your feet 2 inches from the ground

Hahaha...I'm exactly the same way.

I have to have different gear for my different activities. It makes it a lot more fun

Jersey, cycling shorts, helmet, and gloves for when I'm on the bike. (Still shopping for the right shoes and pedals.)

T-shirt, shorts or sweatpants for weight training, jogging, and everything else.

Nothing ever in the ears (e.g. Walkman, iPod) when there's the potential of a collision with another object. I wanna be aware of my surroundings.

Oh, and a golf glove and spikes when I'm knocking the little white ball around.

I can usually wear the same stuff for football, running, frisbee, or soccer. I do have different shoes for running, because otherwise I get a mean case of shin splints.

I don't go biking or kayaking enough to buy special stuff for either of those activities (although at some point we're going to buy some kayaks...). In general, T-shirts and shorts work fine. Or just shorts, to get rid of my nasty farmer's tan.

Pair of Nike Air Tempos for basketball.

Yamaha bass, Crate amp, and a Buecher saxophone for making noise.

And of course, the purple and yellow Boca soccer hat, leisure suit, and spraypainted silver cowboy boots for "nightsports"

Mostly i have one ankle brace which I almost always wear. Then after that, just tshirts and soccer shorts for every sport. My shoes depend on what I am doing, mostly soccer clearts/turn shoes/running shoes for the surface.

On this note, my new wetsuit... its a 3:2 O'Neill Heat if that means anything to you.

May not look like much, but its the best that money can buy (until you start getting into wetsuits used for purposes than surfing related things.) It has liquid sealed seams so that water cant get in or out half as easily as normal wetsuits. It also uses some new material I've never heard of before that is functions like wetsuit rubber but it stretchier, so it doesn;t impact your movement as much as rubber would.

Lets see, cleats for football and golf. Shoes for basketball and just basketball shorts and shirts for working out and stuff. I can't forget snowboarding gear, but then again, you really can't go snowboarding without the proper equipment.
